Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Ghulam Tawab, SJ, SBt. 9 GDP/9 Sqn

17 September 1965, the then Wg Cdr Muhammad Ghulam Tawab led a four-ship F-86 Sabre formation in devastating strikes against Indian armour in the Chamb and Wagah sectors. His 5-inch rockets tore through enemy convoys and tanks, attacking an entire regiment advancing on Wagah. For this exceptional courage, he was awarded the Sitara-e-Jurat.

Later he was given Sitara-e-Basalat in 1967.

He served as Asst. Chief of Air Staff (Admin) and 2nd Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force.

We need to celebrate the war of 65 together going forward. Both of us part of great history.
