It would be significant if Bangladesh actually "took part" in the exercise rather than merely send observers.
You will rarely see BAF participate in any real combat exercise with anyone. It is almost always some cargo dropping and airlifting bullshit.

BAF is in serious identity crisis - their destruction started with indiscriminate hangings by Zia in 1977 while Hasina completely neutered them during her 15-year rule through systematic neglect and corruption. Even India did not conduct any aerial combat exercise with BAF during Hasina regime as it is a waste of their time.

BAF needs a complete overhaul of their war doctrine, Order of Battle, culture and training.

Agreed with this assessment. This is a start. A year ago, this was unthinkable. Our air force's offensive capabilities are severely limited right now and in a sorry state because of politics. And Indians had historically been fearful of overwhelming air power.

We will actively participate in air combat exercises in the future Inshallah. It will take time (and money).

This batch of Type 59 are still in the prehistoric condition I learned. There’s quiet a few of them left un-upgraded. Long ago it was discussed, the total number of upgraded Type 59 will reach nearly 200 vehicles.

But for the T 69 I don’t know what the upgradation scope is. They were previously upgraded to 'T 69D' standard. Replaced the main gun with 105mm, ballistic computers, laser warning receivers etc.

T69 is also quiet an odd platform for BA too. Only 50-60 vehicles are available in the inventory.

These tanks are very old. I would rather procure newer models depending on our budget.
