Whether arm twisted or not the backlog Boeing and Airbus have is so huge (6 to 12 years) Trump (and likely his successor) will be long out of office before this order hits the assembly line. So plenty of time to cancel.

Those two are just playing a dangerous game that is ripe for a company like COMAC to walk in and grab everything.

There is no need to cancel. It's a great deal. US is our major export destination, I see no problem in reciprocation, particularly that Boeing are great aircraft.

I support this deal. Biman is well versed with Boeing planes. And Biman will not be a large or profitable entity. So, Biman should stick with single sourced aircrafts for the sake of cost effective simplicity.

We must increase imports from out export destinations.

While I do not appreciate Bangladesh being arm-twisted into such a major deal, this is not a bad deal overall.
Biman's O&M is already integrated into the Boeing ecosystem hence these additional aircraft would keep logistics streamlined.

I would like to see Biman fly more to wealthy nations.
Biman has a great opportunity exploit Bangladesh's geographical location and turn Bangladesh into a new global transit hub
e.g. - travellers and expats flying between wealthy nations and Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan, Myanmar, etc. could potentially fly Biman to reduce their travel time by transiting via Bangladesh, or at least have additional options when booking flights on short notice.

Direct flights for relatively wealthier diasporra in Australia, USA, etc. is an opportunity that remain up for grabs for Biman.

Getting more brand new Boeings would help Biman regain it's FAA safety certification to resume flights to the US.

The USA has become like that proverbial tiger who doesn't pay the promised reward to the crane who took a bone out of his throat! As for BD, she needs to narrow down the trade gap, so not a bad idea. Anyway, dealing with the USA will only get tougher.....
