Bangladesh plans $2.2b purchase of 20 Chinese J-10 fighter jets

I did.

When did he confirm it? "Information Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman confirmed the matter at a recent press conference."

I recall a press conference from 2/3 months ago, nothing after that.

As I said before, I won't celebrate until I see it with my own eyes. I don't trust this skinny slimy Zahid.

Been hearing about Bangladesh getting xyz for over 25 years now.

Last was the Eurofighter, now it's the J10, soon it will be the J35, but they'll still be operating only F7s and Mig29s into the 2030s.

They're not serious.

Said in Chinese social media that J10CE will start to be delivered to Bangladesh from next year. Total package worth 2.1 billion USD includes 20 J10ce ,weapon system, facilities, and training.

For this project, in the first phase, the Ministry of Finance of the Government of Bangladesh will allocate 350 million US dollars as the down payment. This will be followed by a two-year grace period with no interest, and the remaining balance will be paid in installments over six years.

Great news and now a major headache for IAF Eastern command. It made Indian planning more difficult and anything that contributes to that is a plus for Pakistan.

Facilities are not included. That's a separate $158 millions.

BD needs to look after these assets an keep them as far from Indian attack as possible. Cox's Bazaar leaves no room for improvement due to being surrounded by water. I would look at upgrading Chittagong and expanding it massively and building extensive HAS network there. Maybe 40-50 structures to keep Indian planners guessing.

Indians loves to talk about the advantage of close proximity and how our airbases are vulnerable. But it works both ways. Several critical Indian airbases of Eastern command are also within GMLRS artillery range of BD. Including prizes hashimara where they stationed their second Rafale squadron.

BAF will land J10CE on specific highways if and when needed. They are working on this. Easier to do with single engine jets.

Ye, but I think BAF will always have to plan on an unexpected first strike by India (remember they pulled this shit with Pakistan twice!).

HAS will be very important as will good land based radar network. Air space maybe to tight and make an AEW vulnerable.

Heavy EW, Sat help from China, SAM systems, UAVs and ground radar all working in sync is probably what BD is learning from Pak and China. Then once you get your J-10s in the air it's happy days with the PL-15...

This is a classic case of information being relayed from one source to another. The reports on Chinese social media all cite reports from Bangladesh.

To date, there has been no independent reporting whatsoever on Chinese-language social media.

Yes, but there was no independent reporting on Chinese social media prior to Pakistan signing for J-10C either

In fact, reports had already appeared on Chinese social media well before this.

Leaked photos from the airport at the CAC headquarters had surfaced quite some time ago.

Between 2020 and 2021, CATIC began promoting the J-10CE fighter jet for export.
In June 2021, China and Pakistan signed a procurement contract for the J-10CE fighter jet.
In the second half of 2021, a photograph of a J-10CE fighter jet in a "yellow primer" finish surfaced on Chinese social media.
In mid-February 2022, two J-10CE fighter jets—bearing the Pakistani national flag—were spotted undergoing tests at the airfield of the CAC headquarters; photographs of these aircraft appeared on Chinese social media.
In March 2022, the first batch of J-10CE fighter jets was officially delivered to the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

In China, there is a specific group of people who spend long periods stationed near the airport where CAC is headquartered......

You seem to be confused. I was referring to contract signature and how this was not highlighted in social media and you are referring to aircraft being produced. Two very seperate things
