Bangladesh plans $2.2b purchase of 20 Chinese J-10 fighter jets

Surprised Bangladesh has opened it chequebook if this news is true! Lets see, lots of fake news surrounding Bangladesh and military procurements.

Really hope this is not another fake report.

If true this is a smart move, as well as technical capabilities, BD can count on training and support from PAF.

Additionally events of May will give BAF pilots a psychological edge here.

Very smart move if true

I think Pakistan will help stand up BAF since Pakistan has enough experience with integrating and training on Chinese systems.
The situation you mentioned has nothing to do with pilot operational training. Pakistan does not have the necessary facilities to train J-10CE pilots.
This involves specialized flight simulators, dedicated trainer aircraft, flight safety monitoring and detection systems, and a series of customized tutorials.
Even if Bangladesh were to purchase J-10CE fighters in full accordance with the PAF's order, the aircraft they ultimately receive would have subtle differences from the PAF's J-10CEs. For example, the encrypted communications and control systems, and the matching codes for the weapons systems, are secrets that should not be disclosed to any third party.
Basic pilot training services can only be provided by the manufacturer, unless Pakistan becomes a co-manufacturer of the J-10CE.

But, once Bangladesh acquires these J-10CEs, joint training with the PAF will significantly enhance BAF's combat capabilities. This is undeniable.

Bangladesh economy might will.give it the power to build bigger and better military capacity

The two things go hand in hand

No reason why they can't have
100 fighters top end J10 and J35 in future IE next ten years mix bag ir
60 J10c
40 J35

China looking to export both globally

China's defense relationship with Pakistan is unique and reflects a depth of strategic trust absent with Bangladesh. This is why Pakistan has access to domestic versions of systems like the PL-15, while Dhaka would not.
Considering the unconfirmed signing and long delivery lead times for the J-10C, it is highly probable that any PL-15s offered to Bangladesh would be the restricted export model.

Pakistan ordered the PL-15 in 2020. PL-15 was a new missile in 2020, it just been commissioned into the PLAAF for 5 years.

But now it's 2025, the PL-15 is no longer the latest missile. production line has been shut down and its position has been replaced by the PL-16. So even if Bangladesh gets the PL-15, it doesn't mean Bangladesh the same purchasing authority.

By the way, this is just a rumor of military purchase, it will take more time to become an order.

I think Bangladesh could consider buying the L-15 and then wait for the J-35 to appear on the menu.

For example, two regiments of L-15 were used to replace the MIG-29B/UB and F-7BG/MB. One regiment of J35 were used to replace the F-7BGI.

Bangladesh also needs to purchase an air defense system consisting of HQ-9BE, HQ-17AE, HQ-16EF, HQ-10E. These systems, along with the air force, are sufficient to defeat the IAF.

If this is true, then good for Bangladesh and more power to them. Chinese weapons systems in the hands of both Pakistan and Bangladesh will allow them to defend against Indian aggression and also inflict damage.

Most probably this news is true and the deal will materialize. Lets wait...

But bro, how is American lucky Yunus administration is willing and planning to buy advanced chinses fighters in numbers! Which even 'anti American' hassina regime didn't.

This must be a choton gang conspiracy to handover chinese military secret to the Americans.🫨

In choton gang we trust 😆

According to retired officer POP3, the Chinese military is well aware that the United States has sufficient intelligence sources on Pakistan. Since they have allowed the export of J-10 fighters to Pakistan, they are certainly not worried about the potential leakage of the J-10's data.

The export of the j10 was much before the bonhomie between pakistan and US. The scene has changed. Do you think, china will trust Pakistan with cutting edge weapons with US military base within Pakistan? Offer beidou access to Chinese military satellites within Pakistan bases? With US personnel present? In the future?

What do you think?

There are US personnel already present monitoring the F16s, that wont change.. what rock have you been under ?

The J10CEs still came, as will the J-35A..

Because Bangladesh severely lacks other air combat support systems, even if they simply replicate the PAF's order, their actual combat capabilities will still be significantly different from the PAF's.

Additional support is required:
1. Command and decision-making center. This includes central organizations and facilities such as a data processing and analysis center, data links and communications equipment, and a command and control center.
2. AEW&C.
3. Ground-based early warning radar system.
4. Air defense system.

Right. Plus lots of eyes in the sky--actually even above the sky!
The May 2025 air battle between Pakistan and India was surely THE most sophisticated air combat in human history!
The Pakistani dominance in the sky against India in that battle has already catapulted the Chinese defense industry into global spotlight. The Chinese couldn't be happier because of that!

I'm not talking about the platforms themselves but what comes within the j35s. china has shared the tech so far with a limited number of US personnel in Pakistan airbases. now with renewed US interest, will it be the same?

Mind you,the US military presence in Pakistan will increase exponentially now. Have you thought about it?

Did not stop PL-15s in May did it?

Despite US monitoring teams in Pak.

Try another desperate angle to cope
