I think they got rid of plenty of bureaucracy under the "revolution". So not many competent people left to run ministries . I wonder how pathetic situation might've been under Jamati cabal.

The word on the street is that this was a set up. As he was anti India and now after this incident he gained a lot traction that he lost. He was a team lead of a delegation, and with the ambassador all the time. This entire team was cleared but he wasn't.
