Bangladesh Socio-Political Crisis 2024 and onwards

I read on Twitter that if Relations get bad we would SECURE the SILIGURI corridor ie expand it to prevent any damage by Bangladesh
That should provide you ample peace to cope with the situation. Twitter it is then. Reminds me of operation cold waves on Twitter post Feb 19.

Yes I agree Awami league must be banned but so must BNP and jama at. All AL , BNP, Jamaat or any other party affiliated workers accused of crimes looting, vandalism , corruption etc must be arrested, tried in court, and if guilty punished and barred from holding office. No special treatment for anyone.

I don't agree.

None of the parties should be banned. What should be banned is the associated student and other affiliated organizations of these political parties. Reforms must be in place to ensure proper governance and accountability. Judiciary separate from Executive branch to ensure fair justice system.

If we start banning parties, we are back to square 1. We will be replacing one autocracy with another. All this sacrifice will be for nothing.

Even BAL should be allowed to participate in the next election, and people will show them their place.

BAL today in Gopalganj vowing to bring Hassina back. @Al-Zakir looks like Gopalganj hasn't been liberated yet.

Err, sounds good in theory but simply won't work as all that will happen is that the same people will reconstitute themselves.

What needs to happen is that AL, BNP and Jamaat leaders must be banned from ever standing for political office ever again.

Anyone convicted of a serious crime while in office must also be banned from standing again.

This should also extend to others in the civil service above a certain level as the bureacracy also needs to be "cleansed" as much as possible.

Those from BNP, AL and Jamaat that are relatively "clean" can of course either form their own party or create another one.

Apart from better governance initially, this will be a message to the new generation of politicians and bureaucrats to behave themselves, focus on governing to the best of their ability and not enriching themselves, or carrying out vendettas against their political opponents.

I agree with all the corrupted being arrested and banned. Only clean candidates must be allowed to run.

There will be emergence of new parties for sure.

But, banning all 3 major parties is very unrealistic and it will never happen.

Not just Gopalganj, heard similar small BAL thugs gathered in other smaller villages.

If their leader fleeing the country didn't teach them a lesson, I don't know what will.

Is the 2.5:1 deployment on the border in India's favour a necessity or a show of military strength?
If you don't know Jack Squat about elementary military theory, don't come onto a defence forum.

It is not 2.5:1. Where did you get that nonsense, or do you fabricate things that you have neither read nor discovered for yourself? Please check the figure and come back.

This.is.from.a.2011 Interview with GENERAL.( Retd ).Shankar Roy Chowdhury
What about it? What gives you the impression that this adds or subtracts from whatever @Afif informed you, in elementary language.

I happen to know General Roy Chowdhury personally, and he is sound in all his views.

In 2011., We had a Force Ratio of 2.5 : 1 On Bangladesh border

So. INDIA'S Combat Ability has gone up.many times.in last 13.years
In 2011, we had idiots. In 2024, we continue to have idiots. The force ratio is the conventional figure for an attacker to require in the plains, and in the hills, it goes up to 5:1 or 6:1.

The number of troops facing each other has nothing to do with Combat Ability, a mythical metric that cannot be measured. Professional soldiers war-gaming use Lanchester Models, based on Lanchester's Laws, and that is beyond your grasp.

An invasion would.look very bad on international stage

Best would be Artillery Barrages

4000 km.of border means.we.
Can launch attacks.from any direction
Are you completely deranged? Have you any idea what you are talking about?

feverish day-dreams of our bhakts, it can be replaced with Pakistani cotton, and Chinese products.
Sir some indians grossly over estimate indian power in this region. Nationalism is good, but blind nationalism isn't.
.
They should know India isn't a USD source for Bangladesh. So indian blah blah blah doesn't effect us much.

Brigadier General Azami has returned home after 12 years. He was kept illegally in secret DGFI torture cell called "Ainaa Ghar".

This man lost everything. He was fired from his postion, parents died, his family member kicked out of the country and his wife remarried few years ago thinking he was dead.

His only fault was being the son of former Jamaat Amir Ghulam Azam.
