Bangladesh Socio-Political Crisis 2024 and onwards

I do not know about Nepal or other South Asian countries, but the Bangladeshi revolution was truly organic. It was against Indian hegemony and their domesticated Awami Dalal League.

My family and I were in the middle of this revolution and experienced it ourselves. This is my stance, and nobody can change it.

I will always respect the sacrifices of fearless young generation for ousting the fake Sheikh family from the country.

Just a few days ago you admitted this was a manufactured regime change operation in Bangladesh and that it could not be challenged on that ground and now you are saying the complete opposite.

All that the so called uprising of July 2024 has done is replace one foreign backed government with another and so we remain enslaved and have not achieved independence ... While those who were in this manufactured revolution and experienced it first hand very few were actual victims of the Awami League like me and those who were made Advisors similarly were not victims of the Hasina regime and had no actual part in her removal ...

Do you understand the meaning of sarcasm or you are that naive?

You are lying ... That was not sarcasm ... I challenged you to explain yourself but you did not say anything till now. I questioned your motive several times but you did not respond. If it was sarcasm why did take you so long to clarify or more correctly dissemble

Because I think your conspiracy theory round revolution is silly.

I'm serious about July revolution and own it. You can check my earlier post on this matter. My stance has been same from beginning.

I think your perspective is idiotic but that does not give you the right to prevent others expressing their views on the subject and then sneakily admitting that it was a regime change operation and then going back on the statement in an equally dishonest and shameless manner.

You are deliberately lying about you stance being consistent and are unfit to be a moderator as you are not impartial or unbiased and have restricted debate and discussion on this forum to further your agenda in support of a political party in Bangladesh

In comparison I have been consistent for the last 30 years opposing all forms of hegemony over Bangladesh whether Indian or American and seeking a truly free and independent country and not in support of any political party in Bangladesh which seeks to enslave us

I agree and carry on as you wish.

Boycotting DUCSU, Umama Fatema says Shibir's 'betrayal will be etched in history'

Independent vice-president candidate Umama Fatema has rejected the results of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election and launched a scathing attack on the Islami Chhatra Shibir, accusing the group of “betraying the nation” through large-scale rigging.

In a Facebook post around 5:45am on Wednesday, after polls closed and counting stretched into the night, Umama -- a leading figure in last year's July Uprising and head of the Independent Students Unity panel -- wrote: “This rigged election will be etched in Bangladesh's history as a black night. Fourteen hundred people have died for a rigged election! What kind of history, what kind of system? In the meantime, so many families have been left destitute.”

She alleged that Shibir -- the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami -- resorted to “novel ways of manipulation” to engineer its stunning sweep of the polls.

“For their petty interests, Islami Chhatra Shibir has betrayed the nation in a way that will be remembered in history,” she wrote.

Earlier, at around 3:30am, Umama had already announced a boycott of the polls, posting: “Boycott! Boycott! I boycott the DUCSU. A completely shameless, rigged election.”

“The DU administration has brought shame to the nation after Aug 5. It is an administration reared by Shibir.”

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal VP candidate Abidul Islam Khan had also boycotted the polls before Umama.

Chhatra Dal also protested against the election authority for an alleged instance in which “pre-filled” ballots in favour of the Chhatra Shibir-backed panel were found.

There were also reports of Chhatra Dal protests in front of the Dhaka University Club over the alleged stuffing of ballots overnight.

Shibir’s Abu Shadik Kayem romped to victory in the DUCSU vice-president race, bagging more than 14,000 votes, while his panel colleague SM Farhad bagged the general secretary post. They won by margins more than double those of their nearest rivals in most halls.

Rejecting the allegations of rigging, VP-elect Shadik told reporters after the count that the election had been held in a festive and peaceful atmosphere. “Some are trying to sabotage the election,” he said, urging the administration to act against those attempting to derail the process.

I was surprised when I saw Tareq Zia putting up a social media post for Charlie Kirk. The right wing, hardcore Zionist, Genocide supporting and Islam hating nut-job. He isn't a politician or even a diplomat. Why would the potential future leader of a small insignificant Muslim country put up social m media status for someone like this? Didn't see him put up any status when Palestinian journalists were murdered for their viewpoint?

Just came across this picture in social media. A BNP senior leader Amir Hossain sitting with Charlie Kirk in an event or discussion of some sort. There is no reason for a immigrant and Muslim hating Zionist to be seating side by side with a political leader from an insignificant Muslim country.

But as we all know - Charlie Kirk was a close Trump Ally. He rallied the MAGA brigade and was instrumental to bringing Trump to power.

It all makes sense. BNP is as much in pocket of US, like the rest - IG, NCP, BAL or Jamaat. There are no patriots here. All looking to grab power by latching onto a foreign power.

@MNZGamerX thoughts?

I am not reading too much into it. He is stating the obvious ("violence bad"), perhaps to appease the orange man.

The irony is not missed though - BNP started the "crossfire" culture in its current form in Bangladesh.

Appease for sure. If it was just this post in isolation, wouldn't have carried much weight. The worrying bit is senior BNP leaders meeting with Zionist nuts.
