The banking group said 1,000 posts had already been closed and it expects a further reduction of 4,000 to be complete by the end of this year, amounting to around 5% of its global workforce.

The bank's cost reductions are focused on its UK retail bank, but some back office functions for the UK are done in India, where a significant proportion of the job cuts are expected to fall.

Only about 20% of the original high-paying senior management-level jobs will remain in the West.

I can see initial aggressive cuts but then reality will kick in with these type of companies and they will go back to recruitment but it will be fewer than they fire.

AI may have indeed made things easier for system based roles but in core technical development roles, AI is literally useless and in one way - that's good also - otherwise it will eat away our technical roles.

Philippinies are dumb people to be honest. Lakeer k fakeer & darakal.

Indians on the other hand dominate the technical side of business - tbh they actually deserve this due to strong upbringing at home in technologically advanced research facilities. MNCs in Pakistan are literally fooling people - they provide well established formulations to manufacture and hire one or two technical persons for overlooking the production processes with zero organizational Technical capability to self grow while in India the same MNC would have advanced research centers with full technical teams to build a strong & sustainable business. Pakistanis are then looking towards those Indian regional managers for advice to get their shit fixed.

A decade? How about 300k green cards that have already been cancelled and the people already deported.

Offenses/ felonies ranging from DUI to theft, burglary, aggravated assaults, PR status violations etc.
