While I think subways are great, after making so many trips on China HSR, it makes me think seating arrangements on subways are rather odd. Being seated opposite others, you are always engaged in staring contests. It's one of the unpleasant things about taking subways. I much prefer to use car hailing services to get to places within the local district.
