Hello,

As I know, a lot of you are in IT industry so I thought i will take your advice. I am looking for a good hosting provider who is offering services within my budget. The only requirement is

1tb of SSD
minimum of 16GB of ram
fast enough cpu cores, ideally 8+
true unlimited bandwidth as we use minimum of 600gb bandwidth per month.

2 years of contract is ideal but could be more or less

Thank you

You are not happy with the current hosting provider ? Their service is poor or getting too expensive ?

I am actually very happy with their service but you see we are not doing any campaign to raise funds. The entire website will be funded by Admin team. So I was trying to compare and see if I could save any cost?

Out of curiosity how much money does it cost to keep this forum running per month? Its okay if you do not want to answer, i can understand.

For Europe, you best bets may be Hertzner and OVHcloud. The latter offers 2 year contracts with discounts.

If you want UK hosting, then there are some providers. You could take a chance on Gcore or Leaseweb.

I think OVHcloud with the London data center might be worth looking at, since they offer 2 year contract discounts. For the specs, it would be about 100 pounds per month.

I also looked into the usual AWS/Azure cloud but it seems they will be about twice as expensive per month compared to the hosting providers I listed previously, and their massive offerings are overkill for someone just looking to host a website in a single region.

Hetzner and Ovhcloud are offering 512gb (+ 512gb backup). It does not meet my requirement. :(

I will check Gcore, never heard of them. Most of the packages you mentioned are $140 to 160usd per month. That is $3600 for 2 years and it does not include the cost of Plesk licence fees which is usually 15 to 20 usd per month depending on the host.

My host has offered me renewal quotation of £1800 with the package they sell for £2200 on their website and I negotiated the price to bring it down to £1380 + £6 per month plesk licence fee. I think my package is cheaper... so it looks like i will stick to that

Thanks

i mentioned it in the last message just for you, i was thinking whether to mention or not but I thought in the era of chatgpt, everybody knows about everything. This is just the initial cost of operating such a forum, then you have to buy licences for forum, themes, I have 20-30 paid add-ons installed each costing $15 to $50 etc. So the total cost adds up quickly.
