India joining BRICS currency is a direct threat to US national interest. The continued buying of Russian energy is also not helping the relationship.
I think reality has set in among the US policy makers that India is just never going to act as the way US expects it act.
The steady stream of negative news about India on the Western mainstream media is a sign of events to follow.

India may be at odds with US with regards to issues like buying Russian energy and Bangladesh - but they still hold bargaining chip in US's pursuit of subduing China.

There may be anti India (more of an anti immigration) rhetorics but I don't think India will be antagonized to the extent a Muslim country is antagonized. US will simply overlook certain Indian activities. They have a large footprint in US economy and in critical areas.

And with the increasingly close bond between India and Israel, there is no way US will ever take any action against India. Zionists and Hindutvas are match made in hell.

Reserve currency and isolating Russia are the core US national interests. These are not minor interests. US needs the unlimited credit card to keep borrowing at low rates. West is learning from the China example as China is not showing any sign of playing by the rule based system.
The business opportunities and tech transfer they provided to China for it to grow has not gotten them anything. The hope that China will be part of the so called West lead rule based system is out the window now.
India is showing very little care to core US interests.
Unless US causes India major pain points, India has zero
Incentive to change course.
