Investigations into Banco Master and INSS
Flávio Bolsonaro's departure occurs while the parliamentarian is being investigated in two criminal actions related to the Banco Master case and the misappropriation of funds from the National Institute of Social Security (INSS).
The investigations involve suspicions of money laundering and other crimes. The senator has not yet been convicted in these proceedings.
In addition to the ongoing investigations, Flávio is close to losing his special jurisdiction in the Supreme Federal Court. His term as senator for Rio de Janeiro ends in February, at which point he will no longer have the prerogative arising from holding the office, subject to the rules of jurisdiction applicable to each investigation.
