If my memory serves me well, Iranians made even bigger claims than these:
Thousands of Missiles will be raining down on israel if they dare any evil act against Iran
And today, Iran is not willing to fire a single bullet against Israel inspite the fact that whole American war machinary is running from Israel.

A quite deterrence force is much more valuable than loud farts , is what I have learned from modern day Iran's 40-Year long story that may (still a Big May) come to its conclusion in a decade or so.

I think the 'thousand missiles raining down' still holds true if the war was strictly between Iran and israel.

However with israel getting US involved as the perfect goyim to fight on it's behalf, Iran is having to strategically divert it's resources and confront the bigger fish the US on many tactical levels.
The US certainly has fighter jets and fuel tankers flying out from israel but that is not the whole war machinery and is only part of broader equation from US side.
It is also making use of naval warships and other bases in the region to carry out it's illegal operations against Iran.

I think said holy site should be under muslim control. I also think haiga sofia must have remained a neutral national monument.
