I think hindus benefit from having such a deluded folk as sikhs being their subordinates. Even the "khalistan movement", while officially described as being oppositional to the state of India, possibly helps India overall as it allows hindutva to militarise certain sensitive areas and institutions in this region, as well as giving Delhi an excuse to inhibit negative press and to crack down on sikhs in India periodically.
