A lot of the current Afghan rulers were held in Guantanamo Bay prison for 20+ years. No one really knows if it is the same people, clones, or some special ops people pretending to be Taliban.

A lot of the things the Taliban are doing make no sense, because they are throwing their 20+ years of struggle and achievements into the trash.

Pakistan is also in a muddy state because the current rulers are not legitimate and were put into power by foreign elements.

So it is a dish made somewhere else being served to the region.
