China ought to hold it's ground. U.S. has been ridiculous when it singled out China in imposing tariffs.

Someone calculated about 50% of Chinese products exporting to US will now be exempted from any tariffs, so who is bluffing and chicken here in the duel ? What a joke.
Trump’s commerce secretary just says this is just a temporary pause, probably 2 months.
The US endgame is still to reduce trades with China to 0 whatever the cost.
They are struggling to find the way.
one step forward one step back

Trump can change his mind any day. So, any agreement with his gov actually doesn't worth anything as shown in his behaviors on China in his first term.

My friend, we are talking about the world's largest industrial base. You can't relocate everything from China, even if you relocate, you still need components from China and just be an assembly point. Trump should have planned his tariffs properly and gradually. I told people 8 years ago and am telling people today. We aren't just the biggest producer but also consumer. Don't fck with us. Their goal is not a reprieve, they want 'MANUFACTURING' back to US not to Vietnam not to India. If they just whack China, our stuffs just get rerouted to Vietnam like what is happening presently. If it is not Vietnam, it will be Ethiopia, we might even ship Chinese workers there. LOL.

That's why they planned to whack everyone and hope shit returns to US. But then they found out the hard way when the Japs started selling Treasuries. LOL

There is nothing from China that ordinary Americans cannot live without.

Are there anything from China that is on the same level as Ferrari or Rolex? None. But Americans do not NEED products from Ferrari and Rolex to live. Sure, China can say so and so are worth $X but if no one buy, then it is worthless. On the other hand, if Ferrari and Rolex say their products are worth $X, there are always clients readied to buy.

What this means is that whatever China produce are on the shelves at Walmart and not in boutiques on Rodeo Drive. No Americans care. Whatever Chinese slave labor produce can be taken up by other countries. China do not have high end products such as Ferrari and Rolex, only mid and low end products like electronics and textiles. All Walmart level stuff.

How many people use their TVs until the device literally die in front of their eyes? No one. People replace their flat screen TVs because they want to, not because they need to. So, if Americans hang on to their TVs longer because of the tariffs, how long can your slave labor survive? One yr without pay? Two?

Here are a few examples of REAL standards of living...

Dolby Atmos and HDR10+ are not true measures of standards of living, but the TV itself is.

The Rolls Royce Ghost is not a measure of standards of living, but the Ford F150 and Toyota Tacoma are.

Rolex and Omega are not measures of standards of living, but Timex and Casio are.

Smart appliances are not measures of standards of living, but indoor plumbing, the basic gas/electric stove, and basic refrigerator, are.

Americans can get by a few yrs longer with the current standards, but Chinese slave labor cannot. You guys are in more dire situation than you think.

Dude, calm down. LOL. Why are you ranting like an Indian? Do you think we care if you need or don't need our products? If you want to buy, you buy, else just fck off. The problem is your stronk orangeman suddenly blinked. LOL. That shows you how much he is shivering, one lil bond rate hike and he is shitting in his pants and it wasn't even us selling. Ask the Japs.

Look boy, what did Trump 1.0 taught you? Our surplus increased to 1 FCKING TRILLION$. That's a CAPITAL T. We acted like we were gonna comply and acted meek and weak to Trump, we promised to buy hundreds of billions of stuff, Trump felt like a king, like god, but then until today our imports from US actually decreased. Did Trump say anything? Nope, he just wants an ego massage, but his biggest mistake was thinking China will do the same. He is equating our initial diplomacy as kow towing, as a sign of weakness, now after one big smack in the face, he finally woke up. The same with Indians, in Doklam, we gave Indians face and sought diplomacy, what did they do? They acted tough and screamed victory. One year later, we took over 2000kmsq and they came begging to talk. Do you understand us Chinese now? We always always prefer peace over conflict, we like to negotiate. But once you take our sincere diplomacy for granted, we will fck you up real bad. Chinese saying, don't go for small conflicts, if you want to fight, make sure it is lethal and destroys them.

What a foolish statement, all the Chinese products in Walmart and others no one cares or wants to buy, then why Americans want to import and put them on the shelves in the first place, lol. You can try to import all the replacements from your shitty India and Vietnam if you can, and see what happens, lol. China is ready to totally decouple from US, nothing from US is irreplaceable.

Yes, YOU do. What is the Chinese youth unemployment again?
Come visit China and tell me if we have enough workers. Most of the workers in my yard are in their late 40s and 50s. It is not that there are no jobs, but rather they don't want to work in factories and heavy industries even if the pay is good. We have an aging society, we will have a deficiency of workers in the next 10 years, why do you think we are investing so much in automation and robotics? If we worried, we wouldn't even have robotaxis and dark factories. Use some common sense.

Did I say that?

The point is that China needs US for CONSUMPTION of Chinese slave labor products more than China consume our products. Far more.

Cheap usually mean low price, but the reality is that cheap also includes lower quality and materials and manufacturing and that is what China is known for. Most Americans do not care if we have to replace cheap Chinese textiles every couple yrs. We accept that. But that lower quality also means other countries can replace China.

So, you have an aging population that there is NOTHING the XiPC can do, and whatever youth population you have, there is not enough jobs for some of them, and some of them do not care and are 'lying down'.

And here YOU are, in this little corner of the internet trying to make a good face for a failing situation.

Now if this is your prejudice that our production is merely 'slave labor', then there is no use explaining right? Have seen how our factories work? What key components we produce? What if we take away all US imports, EU imports and replace it with Chinese products and we consume that? US has a 250bil$ surplus in services, now imagine those cushy jobs going to Chinese grads who don't want to work in factories? Then we sell a portion of our surplus to friendly states?

If you think ALL Chinese goods are cheap and bad quality, then again you don't have an objective view. Deepseek, Huawei and BYD is still not a wake up call? LOLOL

Well why don't you visit China and look at our 'miserable' cities and condition. It can make you feel better. LOL

Because losers like you can only afford products made by Chinese slave labor. Lol, China doesn't give a shit about US markets anymore, China can find them in BRI countries and internal consumption.
