China hits back at Canada with fresh agriculture tariffs

Actually it does make a difference. An additional 50 percent tarrif will make a lot of difference.

In first round US Imposed tarrifs on all countries not just China ..some more.. some less. But nearly 20 -30 percent tarrifs on all major countries that exported to US.

So even with 34 percent tarrifs on it goods, Chinese imports to US would still been competitive compared to other countries, given their lower cost of manufacturing.

But now with an additional 50 percent tarrif ..there is not a chance any Chinese product can compete with any product being sold in US either imported or domestic.

Hence China will loose its biggest export market, a country which imports nearly half a trillion dollars Chinese goods every year.
China only exports minimally to US now mate. We make those shit in India and Vietnam employing cheap dalits. Btw, India buckled pretty fast when bitch slapped. Where is the supapowah? LOL

Well, before I left the US and permanently settle in Australia, I told some of my friend, my army buddies that you guys are going to appreciate and miss George Bush very soon, it was early 2010s (sometime before I left in 2012) and back then Bush had probably the worse rating ever of any US President and everyone from the left and right are piling on his mishandling Iraq War and Afghanistan.

It's no secret why I left the US, I said it a thousand time here, to @Starlord to other member as well, left because this is what I foresee this when I look thru the second Obama administration, US is going to constantly being pull into extreme left (when Obama was in because people are sick of Bush) and then extreme right (when Trump was in the first time around because people are sick of Obama) then Biden (again, extreme Left) and then extremely right again (Trump now) and I have a very suspicious feeling after Trump, if he didn't change or suspend the constitution, we will be pull to even further left after Trump, stick around 2026 and 2028 to find out.

The issue here I have problem is, if and when this country is like being an overloaded truck carrying a double load trying to correct itself in the highway, every time it is going to be people who suffered because you are going to push the traffic aside (we being the traffic), the government will be in bicker mode and nothing will get done, and each time we will have a more draconian politician imposing something that the other side don't want and specifically make them suffer, I mean do you think the Dem will forget about this? No, when they come back in power, they are going to do what Trump did, and suppress the right as they suppress the left now, and in the end, this is going to ended up like a rubber band where each side is going to do what the other guys did to them before, and then some, until the society cannot take it, and the rubber band break apart.

This is going to be like ping pong for the next couple of decades, that's why I left, and I don't know if this is the hole in your stomach. This is certainly mine.

You know, what you stated reflects exactly my thoughts, and I feel that this is the hole in the stomach.

It's worse when you look at the United States; other nation-states are following a similar pattern.

That is not what last year's US - China trade numbers says. Last year US imported $439 billion worth goods from China and exported $143 billion worth of goods to China.

India will happily sit back and quietly do a free trade deal with the US, while China is on the quest to prove its super powaah status by cutting off trade with its biggest customer.

54% tariff already exceeds the profit margin of most exporting businesses, adding 50% or 100% wont make much difference.

but China's retaliations are usually multidimensional and hit where it hurts, how come Trump's team is so stupid? they must come up something other than tariffs that could hurt China, for example, kicking China out of the SWIFT system

Free trade deal with US? You still don't know Trump? Remember the backlash against Indians a month ago? They will come after you brownies sooner or later mate. We already have a previous 20% tarriff, and yet we have a 300bil$ surplus? LOLOL. Thanks for telling me that, well it is about to change, why should we export stuff for pieces of debt, we haven't even go to dumping treasuries. As long as the global economy works, USD$ can still be exchanged for resources, now with Russia on our side, we don't really need dollars. I told you Indians are happy being servants of the Whites like sepoys, or 'CEOs', Chinese create our own destinies and companies. This is the difference between real powers and SUPAHPOWAHS.

Well after US - China trade breaks down.

Americans will still need a place to build cheap goods(because that is the American way of life and Trumps entire blue collared vote bank depends on it) and India needs technology both civilian and defence.

All those countries who did not infuriate Trump in his holy crusade rather massaged his ego. I.e. India, Vietnam, Mexico will come in to supplant China.

China said Monday it would not cave to pressure or threats after US President Donald Trump vowed additional 50 percent tariffs on its goods if Beijing did not retract planned countermeasures.

"We have stressed more than once that pressuring or threatening China is not a right way to engage with us. China will firmly safeguard its legitimate rights and interests," Liu Pengyu, spokesman for Beijing's embassy in the United States, told AFP.
Trump suffers emotional outburst.

usually I don’t say this but in this case I fully support China. you must remain hardened stance.

Trump can’t win this trade war. that’s impossible for him. the US can’t win against 180 countries. the economy will slip into recession, in worst case scenario depression even the entire financial stability including the dollar will crash. that’s a very realistic outcome.

Some celestials in here are slowly realizing they aren't the economic power they thought they were. The others will need a smack of reality for them to get it. They don't understand that even though US population is 350Billion the US is the hoover of the earth consuming all things including other nations products which chyna's economy depends heavily.

Celestials in here don't really know how fragile their economy is... it is like a house of cards which Orange man is going to expose what we (with exception of PDF celestials) already knew. Chyna is in a panic devaluing their currency and talking about a huge stimulus which is a very short term Band-Aid.

Orange man is not really upset about the trade deficit this is what happens when a mega power economy consumes all Orange man is upset of the tariffs. Orange man knows the US would win hands down in a free trade deal on just about all nations flooding them with US made stuff.

Chyna right now is begging companies not to leave.

But what you describe is a very common thing in democratic country.

Some of them is not as extreme as in USA, but smaller things can make you go crazy as well.

Sustainable long-term development plans are something rare in democratic countries. But if some democratic countries are able to do so, prosperity is guaranteed. The problem is, it's rare, hard to be achieved.

You know Xi and celestials are panicking when they post an old video of Reagan talking about tariffs being bad.

Where are all the PDF celestials, fanboys and wumaos? They have gone absolutely silent.

So, you want to say that USA is fine?

All the Trump drama is to prank China?

So you are banking on being servitude to America? China could do this because of our superior infrastructure, educated work force, clustered supply chains and also we finance their markets with our surplus. India will of course gain some, and then what? You supply goods and they print dollars? How long is this sustainable? In the old days, China had no choice but to subsidize these ppl because resources were priced in dollars, now we can trade RMB with Russian oil and minerals, African ore with RMB,soybeans corn from brazil in rmb even oil/gas from Mid East is now sold in RMB.

Ask a white man, do they prefer Japanese/Koreans/Chinese to loud curry smelled Indians? You have no idea how much they hate Indians. They are coming for blackies next. I still remember Indians laughing at these 'slave' jobs and now they are begging for in. Surrendering before even negotiating. Trump will want both services and goods surplus to be normalized. Sooner or later he will go after the service surplus, then we will see blackies going crazy. China is desperate? We fired back straightaway, we have been preparing for 8 years, India capitulated in mere seconds.

Haven't Vietnam taught you guys anything, he doesn't want any surplus for you guys, he wants it MADE IN THE USA. LOLOL

Now the ball is in Trump's hand. Americans heavily rely on Chinese goods to maintain their living standard. There is no plan B to replace China. The situation won't change at least for next 4 years in the whole Trump's second term.

Even if US successfully decouples China, Americans should know the consequences. Two bad things will happen very fast. 1, US dollar will not be world currency. 2, China will launch reunification war and take over Taiwan. US can do nothing about it
We will also launch the gold backed CDBC, last estimated gold reserve is 30'000 tonnes.

At this point, it is paramount to establish a totally new payment system and currency. One backed by gold.

Russia has massive gold reserve, China has massive gold reserve. India has decent gold reserves plus Indian households have massive gold holdings. Put a currency which is convertible to gold and end this stupid thing.

About time dump the bloody US dollars!
