China-SCO trade volume increases over 40-fold in 25 years

SCO and BRICS and ASEAN is where China has influence to trade and set up logistical and supply network dominance. China doesn't need foot soldiers from other countries or an alliance like NATO to defend itself, self improvement, technological dominance and development is the only focus.

Over the past 25 years, trade between China and ASEAN has surged dramatically, growing from roughly $105 billion in 2004 to nearly $990 billion by 2024, and pacing past $1 trillion. [1]
ASEAN officially surpassed the European Union to become China's top trading partner, while China has remained ASEAN’s largest trading partner for consecutive years. [1, 2]

Key Drivers of Growth
    • Free Trade Agreements: The implementation and subsequent upgrades of the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area (moving toward the 3.0 framework) significantly lowered tariffs and transaction barriers. [1, 2, 3]
    • Supply Chain Integration: Deep cross-border integration in electronics, machinery, and automotive parts now accounts for the vast majority of bilateral exchanges. [1]
    • Infrastructure Connectivity: Projects like the China-Laos Railway have accelerated regional transport, boosting agricultural and goods transit. [1]
    • Multilateral Pacts: The full implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) further streamlined regional supply chains. [1]

Every country has different outlook and different conditions. I support Mecca pact personally but chinas general position is that alliances always create counter alliances which result in world wars.

The next big thing for China in terms of trade, business and investments is BRI. In 2025, China's total trade with BRI partner countries reached 23.6 trillion yuan (approximately US$3.39 trillion).

Yes BRI is a huge point of jealousy and often attacked by West or Indians. Bri protects chinese supply chain and investments and allow long term influence and growth of trade. Its not about making back money immediately like some simple minded folks seem to have.

China also needs to dominate and have greater influence on EU as well as they are a major trading partner too.

It's really difficult for China to have serious influence on EU. It is a such loyal lapdog of US. EU just follows whatever US does to China. It's no use for China to be nice or amicable to EU because it will backstab China anyway unless the relation between China and US is also good. That's the Chinese think tanks' conclusion on Chin-EU relation after long term observation. The realistic goal for China is to have good trade relation with EU, others are unrealistic.

I think we should just let US and EU divide as we have seen last two years and China can just take the advantage and make EU dependent on China more. We can do all of this quietly and step up to help Canada now that they are in trade war with US too.

Once China hits around 20k gdp per capita in next few years, EU will see that Chinese socialism works and they will have more respect and change their image on china.
