Looks shockingly familiar to somebody elses rockets landing (which BTW reached 650 landings recently).

You do know how fast China can mass produce and scale something once China gets hang of it, don't you?

Sure, but why isn't this landing leg tech idea something the US should be thinking of copying from "innovative" China? You know the country will millions of STEM engineers filing millions of patents and research papers about indigenous solutions to old problems

Come on !!!!!

Form follows function ...

There are only so many design choices you can make for a given problem.

China tries different approaches, if those "legs" can be copied, you'll have hundreds of countries having those legs.

Who says a design that finally works is the absolute best just because it was the first?

People blindly following the above design are simply taking shortcuts instead of bravely stepping back and thinking out of the box as much better solutions are to be found. Most planes ended up following the superior French mono-fuselage with propeller in the center front Blériot XI by Raymond Saulnier not the Wright Brothers design.

That's why I asked sea landing and land landing which one is better, cause China now has two options.
