While social media users and some media outlets claimed he was bowing to touch the seer's feet, the full footage and multiple witnesses confirmed he was actually picking up a piece of paper and a pen that had dropped to the floor. What Actually Happened

• • The Incident: During a cultural dialogue at the 2026 BRICS Summit in India, a document or magazine dropped to the floor while being handed over. [1, 2]
  • The Gesture: In an act of courtesy, President Pezeshkian immediately bent down to pick it up. Simultaneously, Hindu spiritual leader Jagadguru Swami Satishacharya and Jain monk Acharya Lokesh Muni also leaned down to help. [1, 2]
