How can you tell? All jet engines sound alike to me.

what engine is used in both J50 and J36? are they both heavy weight WS-15?
Also what engine is used in GJ-X?
Currently, there is no precise and reliable information; all publicly available information consists of speculation from independent media writers.

In fact, discussing their engines at this point is pointless. Chinese fighter jets typically use mature engines during the initial stages of development. The target engine is only incorporated in the later stages of development, or even many years after production has begun.

@Michael first of all its a beautiful picture..

WS-10. As Michael said, the Air Force has always avoided the combination of "new aircraft + new engine".
