Already posted in a new thread ... but why here? It is surely not an EW / special mission aircraft!??

Shen Diao (“Divine Eagle”) Large-Scale Strategic AEW UAV

• Developer: Shenyang Aircraft Design & Research Institute (601 Institute)

• First Flight: ≈ 2015

• Platform Features: World’s first twin-fuselage HALE UAV; wingspan ≈ 40 m; service ceiling 18 km; endurance > 30 h.

• Radar System: Dual-band (X-band + decimeter-wave) active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar providing stealth counter-stealth, early warning, target designation, and EW support.

• Deployment Status: Photographed in late 2023 wearing standard PLAAF gray paint, indicating formal service entry and routine patrols over the South China Sea.

JY 300 Series Medium AEW UAV

Developer 38th Research Institute of CETC

First appearance Zhuhai Airshow 2018

Platform features Similar in size to the Rainbow 4 employing conformal antenna and smart skin technology to integrate radar arrays into the airframe skin markedly reducing aerodynamic drag

Mission role Theater tactical early warning ground and maritime surveillance communications relay and electronic countermeasures designed to fill low altitude and littoral blind zones of manned AEW aircraft

Status Small batches have been delivered to the PLAAF and PLAN aviation units for trial service and the type has been repeatedly observed in Eastern Theater Command exercises

That‘s both nonsense and the wrong thread! The WZ-9 isn‘t in service yet and the JY 300 too is not in PLAAF service. Seems to be just a stupid report or poorly written from one who cannot differ between the different CH and Wing Loong-variants

China’s Massive WZ-9 Divine Eagle Drone Now Operating From South China Sea Base

1. Shen Diao/WZ-9

A Maxar satellite image dated 4 December 2024 shows a WZ-9 painted in PLAAF-standard low-visibility gray parked on the apron of a PLAN naval-aviation base in southern Hainan Island, alongside an in-service WZ-7. The U.S. website “The War Zone” cited this as confirmation that the aircraft is now “in a semi-operational status ready for tasking.”

2. JY-300

In September 2021, CETC’s 38th Research Institute told PLA Daily that the JY-300 had “entered small-batch service for trial use.” Subsequently, the UAV was openly displayed during several far-sea confrontation drills with an Eastern Theater Command naval-aviation brigade, with official coverage noting its role in “gap-filling low-altitude early warning and target designation.”

1. Care to post that image? In fact I this one taken at a base in the SCS and it is clearly NOT grey but still green/yellow

2. Again, what's the source for this? From my understanding the PLA do not operate this type ...

… if he shared it on this thread, is he being allowed to “indicate” it might be headed that way?

It seems a natural progression to use this technology to fill a known and large gap.

The September 3, 2025 parade will debut at least five types of drones—here’s hoping the ones you’re eager to see are among them!

That‘s for sure but not the point: You posted two claims without a link or source claiming quite bolt statements, so where is the JY-300 is service?

I saw it in flight today from the runway to air born during that parade.

Does it have a rotational plate rotodome or fixed 3 radar arrays?
Carrier-based fixed-wing airborne early warning aircraft (such as China’s KJ-600 and the U.S. E-2D) typically feature a rotating radome that houses an active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, using mechanical rotation to provide full 360-degree coverage.
Also, what does the Chinese President say when he's standing on that Car with mics on inspecting the guard of honor? He says two sentences in a repeating manner
While standing in the open-top inspection car with microphones, the Chinese President repeats two short lines:

“Greetings, comrades!”

“Comrades, you have worked hard!”

The troops respond in unison:

“Greetings, Mr. President!”

“Serve the people!”

I know the Hawkeye well. My question was on KJ-600 platform. Chinese awacs have stationary AESA also in some version. So wanted to ask if this is rotating or fixed 3 arrays for 360 coverage.
