Only the nuclear powered ship would require this device before the sea trial, and JNCX has only started to build the nuclear icebreaker this year, and will build the TEU24000 later.

So this primary circuit cleaning device was only meant for Fujian.

The Type 004/005 twin-sister ships will be the upgraded version of Fujian.

Also, Fujian doesn't have any boiler, because during the steam turbine test phase, it relied on the steam boiler room on the shore, but not inside the ship.

So its steam turbines must be powered by two nuclear reactors, not by 8 boilers.

In the terminology of nuclear, it is closed circuit or primary circuit.

This primary circuit cleaning device is meant for nuclear reactor, and by 10/19/2023 was only for Fujian before its sea trial on May 2024.

All it will take is a sea skimming hypersonic anti-ship missile to sink it. There are no countermeasures. China just want to show off like USA carrier fleet. They should focus on modern submarines and not the current generation noisy fleet.

China is now building 4-5 SSNs comparable to the latest block of the Virginia class annually. And the Type 096 in the same league as the Columbia class SSBN is also under construction.

China is also building toward more than 60 Type 052D and 20 Type 055 hulls. Not included the next-gen 20,000 tonnes cruiser.

In the meantime, the whole Chinese fleet has been equipped with the hypersonic missiles.

However, China's next-gen carrier-based J-50 needs the takeoff/landing moving sea platforms like Fujian and Type 004/005.

I suggest that the asset owner could donate or sell it at a low price to the PLA Navy to be used as a target ship for anti-ship missiles.

Cuban crisis is a good lesson, only a powerful submarine fleet and nukes that the Soviet had wouldn't do the job. A powerful country needs an all around powerful navy.
