Mr. HendartoIf I remember correctly, melting point of Stainless Steel is 1500C, so something that can withstand 2200C has to be an "alloy based on stainless steel" and not ordinary "stainless steel". RIght?

The HGV warhead material described in the article is a composite material with an outermost layer of ultra-high-temperature ceramics, followed by a layer of aerogel insulation and finally a layer of stainless steel. It can withstand up to more than 3,000 degrees Celsius.
