Urdu realistically has a better chance at adoption because not only can almost a billion people speak Hindustani, but also billions of Muslims can read its script.

East Asian all bad at English but good at learning other east Asian languages. Many Japanese, Vietnamese and Koreans can speak flawless, perfect Chinese.

Koreans have pretty good English from my experience, at least the younger generation.

Well in term of culture or thinking, I dont make any research on this

But Indonesian by looking to their history is open minded, I mean this is shown by the easiness of foreign religion to enter and spread in the country. The adoption of Melayu/Malay language, despite minority ethnic, to be national language, also shows the open minded.

Women is also seen more equally since long time ago, so we do have for example women becomes Queen and accepted by the society during ancient history. The adoption of Sankrit, Arabic, and later Latin as national alphabet also show the open minded.

If you look on the music, we also can see Indonesian is more on adapting than let say India with their Indian music style still dominate their music landscape

In the political landscape, Indonesian politics is also more liquid than say US, European, Indian politics. The parties here can easily make coalition and not fight along side the ideology side

Socialist nature is also pretty strong, and it shows more common with China economic system

The culture is now more influenced by Abrahamic religion, be it Islam or Christian (10 % of the population). This is where the moral comes from

from my experience the key of speaking a language is practice in the country.
I learned english years after years with little result. one day the company sent me to Chicago. it was hard. but after 1 week I could speak to the americans.
I can understand a bit but hardly speak mandarin. I think I can speak chinese after 3 months if I spend a time in China.

my spouse learned french at school in Germany, same poor level of proficiency. but then she went to a university in France she speaks french fluently after she was forced to speak french in front of french students.

Ancient South East Asia is pretty much strongly influenced by Indian culture. Look Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia etc.

Even East Asian also has strong Indian culture. Japan has strong buddish present for example, but it is destroyed starting from Nobunaga period during 1500 something since Buddish due to their strong influence and power try to challenge the strongest Japanese clan during that period

It is due to Indonesia and Malaysia is close to Malacca Strait where trade between Arabs and China is pretty strong that led to the entrance of Islam to both Indonesia and Malaysia.

South East Asia I would say at this time is more connected to East Asia, but maybe countries like Malaysia and Singapore where Indian/South Asia ethnic shows strong present still show strong relation with India/South Asian.
