India's weaponising Khan's supporters. Thats an imminent threat to Pakistan. I understand Pakistan's uber emotional state but that doesn't excuse being used by the enemy.
COAS could always use Imran Khan to neutralise PTI and get rid of the internal threat ( which is now quite extensive eg aligning with India and the Taliban). All Khan has to do is stop these alignments in exchange for freedom. I suppose Khan won't listen unfortunately. He doesn't realise the extent of the internal threat by his own supporters.
Everyone else can see this, except for the rabid Khan supporters, particularly the overseas cult. Not a single PTI protest has been peaceful, and every time, it ends up costing more lives. Year after year, they attempt to lay siege to Islamabad, create chaos, and eventually pack up and leave as if nothing happened. It's become a politics-over-dead-bodies kind of situation.
The entire objective of these Islamabad protests is to bring down the government, paralyze the state, incite public anger against the military, and stoke further tensions. You'll also see them supporting the BLA when it suits their narrative, defending JAAC when politically convenient, and exploiting virtually every avenue to undermine state security, generate unnecessary pressure, and inflict economic losses. Everyone understands that the government lacks legitimacy and that Pakistan is effectively under quasi-military rule, but that doesn't justify throwing the country into further chaos or fueling every anti-state movement that happens to serve a political purpose.
The overseas cult has absolutely no stake in the consequences of this destruction. They can afford to pursue a scorched-earth policy because, regardless of what happens, they already have a convenient scapegoat in the military. It doesn't matter what they say or do, because everything is reduced to political point-scoring. The consequences are borne by ordinary Pakistanis, while the people agitating from abroad face none of the repercussions.
Frankly, the entire movement has become so personalized around Imran Khan that the only conceivable way it could lose its grip on Pakistani politics is if Khan himself is no longer around, whether through natural causes or otherwise. People will undoubtedly agitate, but without him, PTI would likely struggle to survive in anything resembling its current form. The party has become so completely dependent on one individual that it is difficult to imagine what remains once he is gone.
India doesn't even have to do anything when PTI's own narrative is essentially, "If Imran Khan isn't there, then Pakistan doesn't matter." It's a movement driven by highly emotional supporters who seem incapable of looking beyond their own political obsession. You can see the same pattern in the official communications of PTI's leadership. They refuse to unequivocally condemn the TTP or TTA and instead talk about negotiations. But negotiate what, exactly? What is there to negotiate with organizations that continue to engage in violence and undermine Pakistan's security?
