Judge gives go-ahead for the Trump administration to gut USAID's workforce

The decision comes after the judge had temporarily paused efforts to place thousands of USAID employees on administrative leave following a lawsuit by labor groups.

FBI Director Kash Patel is ordering a major redeployment of personnel, sending 1,000 FBI agents from headquarters in Washington, D.C., to various field offices, three current and two former FBI officials briefed on the matter told NBC News. He also ordered another 500 agents at headquarters to go to the bureau's facility in Huntsville, Alabama.

The reallocation isn't without precedent: When he became director in 1993, Louis Freeh ordered a number of supervisory agents at headquarters into the field. And many at the FBI can do their jobs from anywhere.

That said, the redeployment is likely to cause turmoil for families, as spouses have to leave jobs and their children are pulled out of school. It’s unclear exactly how long those affected will have to make their moves, the redeployment is happening soon, sources said.

Trump Set To Take Control Of Postal Service - Privatization Could Be Next

Continuing his government-reformation fiesta, President Trump is expected to issue an executive order dissolving the US Postal Service leadership and absorbing the organizaton into the Commerce Department. That bold move may be just a first step toward an even more ambitious and controversial goal: privatizing the perpetual money-loser.

From leadership to rank-and-file employees, the USPS will most certainly mount intense legal and political efforts against both initiatives. The USPS governing board is already gearing up: On Thursday, the USPS board held an emergency meeting in which it hired outside attorneys and directed them to file legal challenges when Trump makes his first move, the Washington Post reported.

There are some things, like postal service, electricity, and other services, which need to be either provided or subsidized by the government, so that they are available to all citizens, even in remote rural areas where they might be economically unfeasible. Private companies just wouldn't bother servicing economically unfeasible areas unless mandated and/or subsidized by the government.

Most governments generally encourage decentralization to lessen the strain on urban infrastructure which just can't handle the massive populations.

Although the business was forced by the U.S. Government to close shop after only a few years, it succeeded in temporarily driving down the cost of government-delivered mail.

So although the postal monopoly remained, Spooner’s conflict led to a nearly 75 percent reduction in postal rates, and his legacy remains as the “father of cheap postage in America.”

In 1970, the United States Postal Service replaced the Post Office Department of Spooner’s day. However, the legal monopoly persists, along with the legal battles. In 1971, a company delivering Christmas cards at a lower rate than USPS was stopped by a court injunction. Until 1993, Equifax had been sending letters via FedEx. This ended when company headquarters were raided by armed USPS agents, and the company was fined 30,000 dollars. Even in 2018, President Donald Trump attacked the online retailer Amazon for damaging post office revenues.

However, the U.S. Government challenged Spooner with legal measures whereby Spooner was initially vindicated. In fact the U.S. Circuit Court expressed doubt that the U.S. had the right to monopolize the transportation of mail. Congress eventually forced him to cease operations in 1851 by legislating a US monopoly.

Water, sewage, electricity were all started by private companies here in America.

And what has government done to improve services since then?

Billions of dollars spent, and a Detroit neighborhood of 150-200 homes ruined because of a 100+ year old water main was never upgraded since government took over.

I personally dislike democrats. Bunch of free loaders and disbelievers. They destroyed American traditional family value and made America a godless country.

Republicans get my vote for upholding conservative values and they are good for America.

Dems can go to hell as they deserve it.

Do not let the Republicans off the hook. They are just as responsible for the decline of America.
