John Catsimatidis, the owner of New York conservative talk radio stronghold WABC, has vowed to fire his newest star, Anthony Cumia, if he says anything antisemitic on air.
Catsimatidis, a billionaire supermarket mogul and former Republican candidate for mayor, made the pledge in response to a Jewish Telegraphic Agency article about Cumia’s history of antisemitic and racist tweets. He said the station had discussed the tweets with Cumia prior to hiring him, and added that he believed Cumia’s contract forbids antisemitism on his radio show.
“He says anything antisemitic, he’s off the network,” Catsimatidis said in an interview on Thursday. “We’re not going to put on somebody that’s bad for our people.”

Catsimatidis said antisemitism runs against the conservative station’s ethos, calling WABC “the most pro-Jewish station in America.” He added that he had spoken with Rabbi Joseph Potasnik, executive vice president of the New York Board of Rabbis, about Cumia.
“WABC will not allow him to say anything antisemitic, he knows this,” Catsimatidis said of Cumia. “He knows that WABC will not tolerate it.”
Reached by JTA, Potasnik said he was going to “going to meet with ABC to get a complete understanding of the story” and would refrain from commenting further until then. He vouched for Catsimatidis’ record of standing with the Jewish people.
“I’ve known John for years, he’s been a friend, he’s been one who’s always been there for the Jewish people, a steadfast friend of the Jewish community,” Potasnik said.

Postal Service plans to cut 10,000 employees in the next 30 days through a voluntary early-retirement program
U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy informed members of Congress on Thursday he has signed an agreement with the General Services Administration and Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency to right-size the Postal Service budget.
The Postal Service moved in January to cut 10,000 jobs cuts through an early retirement offer to eligible workers.
In a letter to Congress, DeJoy lamented that the Postal Service has a "broken business model that was not financially sustainable without critically necessary and core change."
"Fixing a broken organization that had experienced close to $100 billion in losses and was projected to lose another $200 billion, without a bankruptcy proceeding, is a daunting task," DeJoy wrote. "Fixing a heavily legislated and overly regulated organization as massive, important, cherished, misunderstood and debated as the United States Postal Service, with such a broken business model, is even more difficult."
DOGE will assist USPS with addressing "big problems" at the $78 billion-a-year agency, which has sometimes struggled in recent years to stay afloat. The agreement aims to help the Postal Service identify and achieve "further efficiencies."
USPS listed such issues as mismanagement of the agency's retirement assets and Workers' Compensation Program, as well as an array of regulatory requirements that the letter described as "restricting normal business practice."
"This is an effort aligned with our efforts, as while we have accomplished a great deal, there is much more to be done," DeJoy wrote.
Critics of the agreement fear negative effects of the cuts will be felt across America. Democratic U.S. Rep. Gerald Connolly, of Virginia, who was sent the letter, said turning over the Postal Service to DOGE would result in it being undermined and privatized.
"The only thing worse for the Postal Service than DeJoy’s ‘Delivering for America’ plan is turning the service over to Elon Musk and DOGE so they can undermine it, privatize it, and then profit off Americans’ loss," Connolly said in a statement.
He added: "This capitulation will have catastrophic consequences for all Americans – especially those in rural and hard to reach areas – who rely on the Postal Service every day to deliver mail, medications, ballots, and more. Reliable mail delivery can’t just be reserved for MAGA supporters and Tesla owners."
The National Association of Letter Carriers President Brian L. Renfroe said in a statement in response to Thursday's letter that they welcome anyone's help with addressing some of the agency's biggest problems but stood firmly against any move to privatize the Postal Service.
"Common-sense solutions are what the Postal Service needs, not privatization efforts that will threaten 640,000 postal employees' jobs, 7.9 million jobs tied to our work, and the universal service every American relies on daily," he said.
USPS currently employs about 640,000 workers tasked with making deliveries, from inner cities to rural areas and even far-flung islands.
The service plans to cut 10,000 employees in the next 30 days through a voluntary early-retirement program announced in January, according to the letter.
The agency previously announced plans to cut its operating costs by more than $3.5 billion annually. And this isn't the first time thousands of employees have been cut. In 2021, the agency cut 30,000 workers.
As the service, which has operated as an independent entity since 1970, has struggled to balance the books with the decline of first-class mail, it has fought calls from President Donald Trump and others that it be privatized.
Last month, Trump said he may put USPS under the control of the Department of Commerce in what would be an executive branch takeover.

More than 100 USDA and ag related government offices all over the country are on the list to have their leases terminated by the Department of Government Efficiency.
According to a list on DOGE’s website, the affected offices include:
- FSA state and county offices
- NRCS
- APHIS
- Agricultural Marketing Service
- Rural Housing Service
- Food Safety and Inspection Service
- Forest Service
- Risk Management Agency
It’s important to note the lease terminations don’t necessarily mean all the locations will close. In some cases, agencies may negotiate new leases to stay in place, downsize their existing space, or relocate elsewhere.
USDA currently ranks seventh on DOGE’s “Agency Efficiency Leaderboard”.

In a Feb. 27 email from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Bean was informed that a grant that provides Fair Housing with $425,000 in funding each year was immediately terminated per executive order requiring DOGE cuts.
“Oh, it was quite a shock. We were preparing—we had interviews scheduled to hire a couple folks, cases in the midst,” said Bean.
Montana Fair Housing is a non-profit that intervenes in discriminatory housing practices, settles tenant and landlord disputes, and other matters in the federal Fair Housing Act. Bean said she gets about 180 inquiries a month.
“Services are going to be markedly cut back, so we’ve had to really scale back what we're going to be able to do and in what time frame,” she said.
DOGE is an effort headed by Elon Musk at the direction of President Trump to reduce the federal workforce and trim what it sees as wasteful government spending. Bean agrees that there’s a need to cut back on federal spending, but she says some of DOGE’s methods, like cuts to fair housing, are going too far.
“There is a way to approach scaling back government and addressing abuse without across-the-board harming millions and millions of people,” said Bean.
The fair housing office has three employees and plans to continue by seeking funds through other grants and donations
