There are NATO troops in training roles and intelligence roles. Also mercenaries from NATO countries in combat roles. But no NATO troops officially in combat role on the frontlines. Ukraine is not a member of NATO.

Modern warfare is becoming so deadly like trench warfare. Constant drones buzzing ahead not know when they do a suicide dive on you is some ptsd inducing shit.

This is what you called a paper tiger military where a nation boasts its military being some advanced killing machine looking good in parades, combat exercises and displays but when it's time to do real war against a real military it all of a sudden gets exposed as frauds. They had no combat experience against a real military in the mechanize realm. No joint-command and combine arms capabilities. Their combat exercises with other nations were nothing but photo-ops never using or sharing full capabilities of their weapon systems to learn what works and what doesn't unlike US-NATO, Japan and SoKo do. Does it sound familiar like another nation that likes to boast of their capabilities when they've never been in combat or have joint-command/combine arms capabilities?

I'll admit I sorta bought the Russian military hype when it came against Ukraine I really thought they would crush them and invade Kiev. Charles Mutoka, a 72-year-old Kenyan is in mourning for his son, Oscar Khagola Mutoka, a former soldier who traveled to Russia in the summer of 2025 to look for work.

His father said that he had tried in vain to talk him out of it. Oscar did not tell him and the rest of his family exactly where he was going, but a week after leaving, he sent a picture of himself in uniform and never got back in touch again.

His family found out that he had died some time later but, despite appeals to the Kenyan authorities, they were not able to recover the body.

In May 2026, the family held a symbolic memorial service and set up a makeshift burial site for Oscar, to at least have a place where they could pray. "The worst part of it is that I cannot even try to imagine: Is he buried or was his body thrown away in a forest in Russia?" Charles Mutoka said.
