We (europeans) let US to build long range radar and ABM bases in Poland and Romania.

We laughed at Putin when he asked to enter NATO.

We let micro-eastern nations to enter NATO and European Union.

We silenced when Bush junior ambushed Russians in their soft belly in Ossetia war.

"Babylon" in the Bible is a metaphor for humanity gone bad not an actual physical attack on something using the sea.

It's like saying somebody's actions is sinking their own ship. It was nothing to do with actual ships sinking.
