A new nuclear step opened by Egypt with Russia.. Rosatom reveals talks with Cairo to localize floating nuclear power plants and small-scale nuclear reactors, in parallel with the continued implementation of the Dabaa plant.Rosatom's CEO Alexey Likhachev confirmed that work is underway to explore issues of localizing floating nuclear plants and small-scale plants, following a meeting with Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat in Russia.The talks are not limited to the Dabaa plant, as the two sides discussed the latest technologies for small and medium nuclear reactors and the potential for their use in the future for electricity production and meeting the needs of industrial areas and regions with limited loads.Cairo, through this cooperation, seeks to localize nuclear technology and transfer expertise, alongside preparing Egyptian cadres capable of operating and managing nuclear facilities in accordance with international safety and security standards.Rosatom affirmed its continued support for the Dabaa project, while the Minister of Electricity emphasized the importance of studying small reactor technologies according to economic and technical feasibility and safety requirements.The exploration of floating nuclear energy and small reactors represents a potential expansion in Egypt's nuclear program, after cooperation with Russia had primarily focused on the Dabaa project.Notably, small reactors are characterized by greater flexibility in use, which opens the door to future applications that go beyond traditional power plants to include industrial sectors and areas that need stable energy sources.Is Egypt preparing for a new phase of nuclear energy that goes beyond Dabaa? In the presence of El-Sisi and Xi: Details of the Memoranda of Understanding and Documents Signed Between Egypt and China Today

President El-Sisi and his Chinese counterpart held an expanded meeting today with the delegations of both countries. This was followed by the signing of an agreement and several memoranda of understanding, and then a luncheon hosted by the President and his wife in honor of the President of the People's Republic of China, his wife, and the accompanying delegation.

The two presidents also witnessed the signing ceremony of five agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries:

- A memorandum of understanding on the list of cooperation priorities within the framework of Egypt's Vision 2030 and China's Belt and Road Initiative, signed on behalf of Egypt by Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, and on behalf of China by Zheng Changjie, Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission.

- An agreement on economic and technical cooperation between the two countries, signed on behalf of Egypt by Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, and on behalf of China by Chen Xiaodong, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency.

- A Memorandum of Understanding on enhancing economic cooperation in the field of industrial and supply chains was signed by Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, on behalf of Egypt, and by Wang Wentao, Minister of Commerce, on behalf of China.

- A Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of information technology was signed by Eng. Raafat Hindi, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, on behalf of Egypt, and by Zheng Changjie, Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, on behalf of China.

- A Memorandum of Understanding between the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China was signed by Mostafa Sheikhoun, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone, on behalf of Egypt, and by Wang Wentao, Minister of Commerce, on behalf of China.

More than 20 other cooperation agreements were also signed on the sidelines of this visit, covering technology, finance, the digital economy, communications, media, and other fields.

The reception ceremony was followed by an expanded meeting of talks with the delegations of both countries, followed by the signing of an agreement and a number of memoranda of understanding, and then a luncheon hosted by the President and his wife in honor of the President of the People’s Republic of China, his wife and the accompanying delegation.
