The establishment of the first plant in Egypt to produce uranium products comes at a time when engineering work has begun for the Dabaa nuclear project in cooperation with the Russian company Rosatom, which is intended to produce 4,800 thousand megawatts of electricity by constructing 4 nuclear reactors with a capacity of 1,200 megawatts per reactor.
Egypt reveals that it owns a nuclear fuel factory and announces its intention to produce uranium ore
The head of the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority, Amr El Haj, said that his country owns a nuclear fuel factory, out of only 9 factories in the world.
Al-Hajj explained in a television interview that this factory produces the fuel needed for the reactor instead of purchasing it, as Egypt buys the raw materials for the fuel, while the manufacturing is entirely within Egypt.
