Technology transfer from Türkiye to Egypt

The technological expertise gained by Havelsan (HAVELSAN) through the drone platforms (UAV) it developed for various mission scenarios - such as "BAHA", "BOZBEY", "POYRAZ" and "BULUT" - is integrated with Egypt's local production capabilities via the "HAMZA-1" programme.

Very cool, thanks for sharing !

Good to see tech transfer and R/D cooperation between Muslim nations !

Hopefully they continue to invest in local industry and military means

Were any deals signed? Any orders placed? By anyone?
Export contract for Hamza 1

The Turkish company HAVELSAN and the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) signed an agreement to sell the HAMZA-1 drone, which was jointly developed by the two sides, to a number of users.

The agreement extends the co-production agreement signed on August 26, 2025, moving the HAMZA-1 program now from co-production to commercial sales and export.

Under the joint production model between the two sides, parts and components of the deal's aircraft are scheduled to be manufactured in Egypt, along with other parts manufactured in Turkey, before completing and assembling the system according to joint program arrangements.

The GK-1000: An Egyptian Guidance Kit Announced for Integration on F-16 Fighter Jets

The Information and Decision Support Center of the Egyptian Cabinet announced the possibility of integrating the GK-1000 guidance kit on F-16 fighter jets.

The GK-1000 can operate in two ways regarding mission data. Target data and coordinates can be pre-loaded before the bomb is mounted on the aircraft, allowing the munition to execute the mission using the pre-loaded data.

In the case of full integration with the aircraft via the MIL-STD-1760 interface, mission data can be exchanged between the aircraft and the munition. This allows coordinates and data to be uploaded to or passed to the GK-1000 via the aircraft's systems before launch.

The system has a declared range of approximately 100 km when launched from fighter jets, with a total weight of up to 1098 kg, and a declared accuracy with a margin of error of less than 10 meters. The system relies on INS/GPS for navigation and guidance, with a CRPA antenna for jamming resistance, and supports waypoint tracking and the ability to pre-select the angle of impact.

*** If a booster is added to it, its range could exceed 150 km, and we will be able to find a good alternative to JDAM

Contracts for the GK-1000.. and Renewing the confirmation of the export of "Jabbar"

During the 2026 El Alamein International Air and Space Exhibition, Amstone revealed that there are contracts for the GK-1000 guided bomb in the local and regional markets.

According to company statements, the GK-1000 weighs about 1,000 kg, has a range of up to 100 km, and has a circular margin of error not exceeding 3 metres.

In an important development, the company also explained that it had already contracted with countries friendly to Egypt that wanted to purchase Jabbar drones.

The new statement reaffirms what Reuters revealed during EDEX 2025 last year regarding the existence of contracts for "Jabbar" export, so that we now have an official and direct reaffirmation at El Alamein Expo 2026 that the chain has entered the actual export stage.

Interestingly, the Jabbar series first appeared in December 2025, and now, less than a year later, there is explicit talk of actual export contracts for it.
