The Pakistanis that migrated to Britain in the 1950s came from rural backgrounds where education was limited or not given priority.
Cultural practices where given more importance over Islamic teachings and values. Many of our forfathers where decent law abiding hard working people who lived with honour and respect. They fed their families here and provided for their families in Pakistan.
Unfortuantly in the 1970s/1980s south Asians were targets of the National Front. We stood up and fought back, however education amongst a new generation of Pakistanis was never given importance rather marrying a family member to settle them here was especially in the former industrial northern towns. Today it is common to see working white class families and Brit Pakistanis in these deprived towns and villages. Many of whom to do not mix.
In such places some Pakistani males had poor levels of integration, education and aspirations. Some from amongst this cohort engaged in criminal activity such as distributing narcotics and sinful behaviour such as drinking alcohol. With this came power and wealth which these individuals were able to influence over a section of the poor white female communities by engaging in unlawful relationships. Some Pakistani nationals who settled here on spouse visas also engaged in grooming activities.
The truth is education and Islamic values/teachings where never a priority for our youth despite our forefathers having a very strong respectable culture.
Things are beginning to change now as more youngsters are learning and practicing their Islam as well as engaging in education.

Edit: in the 80s and 90s the mosque committee members and teachers where very traditional from our native villages. Many of whom could not speak English or understand British culture or society. My own experiences, many may be able to relate to, learn your sabak, pray your namaz be sure to bring your mosque fee on friday. If we did not abide by the rules we would.get hit.
Many of my friends learnt very little at the the mosque as there was a cultural gap.

But when someone has a little bit of money or they start gaining money they want to naturally show off, for our people that means BMW, Mercedes or Audi if you can get a SUV version even better

But when that money starts to go up, that's when you go for more special cars BUT it's also when you realize you don't give a crap what other people think and drive around in cars that are very normal

My favorite car I have is a tiny old Toyota Yaris which I can drive around in, it's nippy, never fails and I enjoy the fact that I don't care about others its my little car

I would like more data as your theory makes perfect sense but still worrying and on a surface level it makes us look "degenerate' like most of the rest of society.
