In recent years, Türkiye has emerged as a reliable defense partner for Bangladesh. It has already procured several types of military hardwares from country's rapidly developing impressive defense industry complex. With more procurements and cooperation are to be expected in the near future.

With recent Revolution in Bangladesh and impending return of democracy, there is a new window of opportunity to expand Türkiye-Bangladesh security cooperation, that is free from foreign influence and interference.

Apart from Bangladesh Armed forces, (Army, Navy and Air Force) national intelligence agencies are set for significant reform and overhauling. Which likely to face challenges given the extent of compromise in last 15 years and the breakdown of institutions.

Tükiye-Bangladesh cooperation in this regard could enhance BD intelligence apparatus and help modernise its outdated structure. Starting from training program to procurement of high-end sensitive software and hardware that many countries are reluctant to provide or previously came with various strings attached.

For it to be realized, Bangladesh government must understand the necessity of rapid and comprehensive reform of BD intelligence agencies, and seek close cooperation with friendly and brotherly countries like Türkiye.

Bangladesh should absolutely embrace the Turks.

Not just their weapons but culturally as well.

I have so many Turkish friends - from atheists to moderate Muslims. Mostly a humble and self deprecating bunch.

Most of them hate Erdogan but accept he is democratically elected. Albeit, through the use of sharp practices.

Indonesia, Malaysia and Turkey are the countries Bangladesh should look upto and try to forge close alliances.
