Timing is an issue but the matches have been generally entertaining IMHO

yup, alot of these otherwise racist/hater europeans who hate foreigners (they call them "auslander") are happy to have thr black/african players run around for them to "win".
Countries like switzerland, austria, and many others, all of a sudden their soccer teams have more than half team comprised of them

It works both ways. Brazilians, Italians, Spaniards have represented far eastern national teams and middle eastern Arab teams on occasion (rare I suppose).

Fabio Cesar was a Qatar national player for many years, for example. I think players will switch nationalities depending on what is ultimately more lucrative for them.

Lamine Yamal could have played for Morocco but chose Spain. Laporte chose between France and Spain, having both options available.

If African teams paid well and could offer genuine opportunity for success, I am certain you would see the same phenomenon more common in reverse.
