🧨 Microsoft releases emergency Windows 11 update to fix issues with latest September patch

But...but..but...Macs are overpriced machines for blind Apple lovers.

Yeah, I wouldn't be one if Windows didn't F-me-over so many times.

Macs just work..like all the time..enough said.
Not dealing with aggravation is worth every extra penny.
Mac OS is just a fancy decoration on top of open source BSD OS, which is very similar to Linux as both are influenced from Unix. That's the reason 99% of Mac's commands are similar to Linux.

I can make my Linux look exactly like Mac OS in just 10 minutes max and can make it look like Windows 11 the next hour, or switch between both interfaces as per my wish by just logging in and out. ;)

Deepin, the most beautiful OS
Is this a Linux variant?

Am downloading it now with intention of setting up on a VM.

And now that I'm reading the "About us" while downloading the ISO, may not now.

Yep. That's one of the most polished UIs I have experienced on a Linux distro. Its mostly popular in China. Chinese users here may know about it. @ety @retaxis

Oh I like the UI, don't get me wrong. Looks just like Windoze 11 without actually being Windoze.

My concern is with it being a Chinese release, how much spying is it doing? More? Or less than MS? Maybe my security concerns are unfounded. I currently run Mint and have set it up to run VMs which is where I would run this if the decision is made to move forward with it.

Chinese are not known for spying and even if they do, who cares, its not like they will do any harm to us. On the other hand we use every American platform like facebook, whatsapp, google and others whose data indirectly goes to FBI, CIA and NSA.

I am also in the process of de-google my phone as well. There are tons of guides on internet on alternate apps for everything. I have also ditched every American social media platform except whatsapp, only problem with whatsapp is all contacts are using and its not trivial to convince everyone to ditch it for a secure option.

Mint is also a great option. I was using it as daily driver till around 2020/21 when I made the switch to Deepin. In fact if you have an older hardware then I'd suggest you continue on Mint as the later is quite resource hungry due to its lustrous UI.

My phone and tablet are both pretty well locked down for some things but not enough to my liking. I absolutely do NOT do any banking on my phone or tablet.

I do use WhatsApp as that helps me here stay in contact with some of the other mods and admins when away from the forum. Otherwise, Signal is the preferred app.

Mint is indeed a great option, In fact, it powers this very PC I post from. A circa 2009 1st generation i7 with 16G of RAM. That is all that is supported by the MB. It runs far better now than it did on Windows 10.
