DUBAI: The UAE’s Federal Prosecutor Hamad Saif Al-Shamsi said investigations into FlyDubai flight FZ1073 found that the co-pilot had attempted to carry out a terrorist attack.

In a statement carried by WAM News Agency, Al-Shamsi said the co-pilot launched his plan during the flight, assaulting the captain inside the cockpit with a crash axe and attempting to take control of the aircraft.

Investigations are continuing to establish the full circumstances and motives behind the incident, as well as any related connections. Authorities are also completing technical examinations and analyzing physical and digital evidence, with final findings to be announced once the investigation is concluded.

A FlyDubai spokesperson said that the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.

Dubai crown prince visits Indian hero pilot

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the crown prince of Dubai, visits FlyDubai captain Smit Machchhar at the hospital, whom he described as the embodiment of “the highest degrees of courage, responsibility, and care for human life.”

Images shared on social media showed Sheikh Hamdan by Machchhar’s hospital bedside, with one image showing the Dubai crown prince kissing the Indian hero pilot on the head.

Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the president of UAE, in a social media post said that the “region’s struggle with extremism persists, and justifying terrorism through hate speech is part of the danger, not its margins.

“The latest terrorist operation is a new warning that the confrontation has not ended.”

Gargash also stressed the importance of the UAE’s early and firm stance of non-tolerance “for extremism and no leniency toward its discourse, for security begins with confronting hate and drying up the sources of extremism.”

As per Chatgpt
Reuters' reconstruction using a flight simulator found that the sudden descent would have produced significant negative G-forces. An unrestrained passenger could actually be lifted from their seat. The simulator reconstruction also indicated that the autopilot disconnected before the plunge and that the aircraft accelerated very rapidly.
anyone has access to this simulation report please share

There are several factual questions that remain open:
  1. Why was an Omani pilot who was reportedly removed from flying duties allowed to fly an Israel-bound flight?
  2. How did the airline's security/vetting process deal with his previous history?
  3. Why did the aircraft experience such an extraordinary sequence of dives, climbs and another dive?
  4. What exactly happened inside the cockpit immediately before the first descent?
  5. Why did the aircraft transmit 7700 and subsequently 7500?
  6. Who were the additional qualified pilots aboard and why were they travelling on that particular flight? The airline says they were Flydubai personnel travelling as passengers, which is plausible and apparently routine, but the precise circumstances remain worth documenting.
  7. What will the physical and digital evidence show about the co-pilot's motive and communications? The UAE investigation specifically says it is examining this.

What You Won't Hear About the "Flydubai" IncidentAlongside Netanyahu's need for this incident to exploit it electorally .. there is a dimension more complex than you imagine .. the "Flydubai" incident is not a security breach that will be closed after the investigation. It is the cover that #Mohammed_bin_Zayed needed to pass what he cannot announce explicitly to Emiratis and Arabs: expanding Israeli security influence inside airports, airlines, and sensitive agencies.

Follow what will happen in the coming days .. demands will begin under a reasonable title: protecting flights heading to #Israel and preventing the incident from recurring. Tel Aviv will request knowing the identity of every pilot and employee working on these flights, reviewing their record, movements, and communications, and participating in their security evaluation before allowing them to approach any aircraft carrying Israelis.

Then the matter expands. From scrutinizing flight crews to participating in vetting all workers inside Emirati airports. Then reaching pilot and employee databases, residents, and travelers, and linking them to surveillance systems, facial recognition, and Israeli watchlists.

At that point, #Israel will not have sent a team to assist in a one-off investigation. It will have placed a permanent eye inside the UAE's most sovereign facilities, and become a partner in determining who works, who travels, who enters sensitive areas, and who deserves surveillance.

And it won't stop at airports. If it's said that the threat came from "extremism" undetected by Emirati checks, mechanisms for hiring, residencies, and visas will be reviewed, then communications, digital accounts, financial transfers, and social relations will be monitored. The pretext stretches from protecting a plane to vetting an entire society.

#Mohammed_bin_Zayed doesn't mind. On the contrary, he needs this crisis to justify having Israeli experts inside airports, linking databases, expanding information sharing, and granting Mossad and Shin Bet a role that goes beyond protecting flights to surveilling the state itself.

The incident gives him the perfect cover. He can say that the new measures were imposed to protect passengers and prevent terrorism, that Israel's participation is a technical necessity and not a political decision, and that handing over information is part of an international investigation, not a sovereignty concession.

And in the shadows, he finds personal benefit. Israeli agencies can help him track his opponents, vet the loyalty of employees inside state institutions, monitor residents, and detect any dissent within the army, aviation, or security apparatus regarding his alliance with Tel Aviv—as well as providing protection for a secure power transition to his son Khaled in the face of Uncle Tahnoon.

The deal is clear: #Israel grants Mohammed_bin_Zayed additional tools to protect his rule, and he grants it unprecedented access to data on Emiratis, residents, and the state's security infrastructure.

The relationship began under the banner of economic cooperation, then Israel entered defense systems, surveillance, and cybersecurity. And today, the "Flydubai" incident gives it the justification to shift from protecting UAE skies to vetting who moves beneath those skies.

Israel won't say it wants control over UAE security. It will say it wants to protect its citizens.

And #Mohammed_bin_Zayed won't say he handed over his state's databases. He will say he closed a security breach.

But the breach itself is the door. And the plane is just the pretext. As for the real goal, it is for #Israel to know about everyone who lives and moves inside the UAE what the Emiratis themselves do not know.

UAE had shared details about FlyDubai flight with Israel, including pilots’ names and nationalities, officials tell AP

TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — Authorities in the United Arab Emirates shared with Israel a list of passengers and crew ahead of the FlyDubai flight on which a pilot attempted to seize control of the Israel-bound aircraft and crash it, regional officials said Sunday, raising new questions over how the attacker evaded detection.
