German economy is collapsing

As the massive wave bears down, they seem to cling to the illusion of sailing against the current—yet I respect their decision.

In this world, there aren't many nations that can remain fully clear-headed.

How can your economy collapse with such big brands?
Not collapsing, shrinking is a better description of the state of economy. All the brands still exist but less. Imagine, you are 120 kg, now just 80 kg thanks to diet. The leftists, the greens, the dreamers, Merkel told, you must shrink.

Germany’s real problem lies in the deep divisions within the country, rather than in external factors.

Just these days, the German President is visiting China, seeking to expand China-Germany cooperation. Meanwhile, the German Chancellor is in Japan, looking to collaborate with the Japanese to contain China.

Well, what on earth are they trying to do? Heaven only knows!

Germany can either join other nations in confronting China, or it can cooperate with China for development. You have two paths to choose from. But you can't walk both paths at the same time.

No foreign customers, no money, no richness. I think it's pretty simple.

How many cars and industrial machinery sold China 2 decades ago? Then Germany was fine, now Chinese cars are becoming the new normal in a lot of countries. There is no customers enough in this planet to keep rich China and Germany.

Interesting the collusion with Japan, another big damaged by China industrial competence.

But I think German-Japanese plan would be useless, in the end USA has the last word, and USA was not direct confrontation with China, they prefer to impoverish vassals like Germany, like all past declining empires.

A real-world example:

Audi has partnered with SAIC in China to launch a brand-new brand, "AUDI," specifically for the Chinese market. (This brand uses a logo consisting solely of letters, rather than the traditional four-ring emblem.)

The first model launched by the SAIC Audi brand is the Audi E5 Sportback. It is developed entirely using Chinese technology, manufactured in China, and carries the Audi brand. In the Chinese market, it is priced starting at 205,900 RMB.

A parallel vehicle importer discovered that, even after accounting for customs duties, shipping costs, and VAT—which brought the price of the vehicle in Germany to between €60,000 and €86,000 (approximately 470,000–670,000 RMB, or 2–3 times its price in the Chinese market)—the higher-performance E5 Sportback remained nearly €40,000 cheaper in Germany than the Audi S6 e-tron sold locally. Consequently, the importer began bringing this model into Germany.
However, this action led to a lawsuit filed by Audi’s German headquarters.

Who could possibly withstand an impact like this?

xiami su7 is coming to australia in the next 18 months. I might wait for that car it looks sick.

Meanwhile no german or european cars provide the level of quality at the same price point

A good friend of mine who lived and worked in Pakistan for a German NGO was saying just last year how the economy is struggling to rebound after the pressures of COVID and the Russian war.

The crisis in the Middle East coupled with decreasing purchasing power as people go turtle and save and spend less, weakening investor confidence all make a dangerous mix for an industrious nation like Germany.

Throw on top that they have lost access to cheap energy supplies from Russia and you have a near perfect storm for Germany.

I lived in Germany as an expat for two years. Nice country ( but a bit boring at times ).

West Germany was purposedly designed after ww2 to be a boring, reliable country with no assertive expression of culture or national identity, in order to not be accused of imperialism. That continued after 1990 and continues up to this day obviously. Everybody buys (or used to buy) German industrial machines but nobody can name a single German movie.

And their energy problem would be much less severe had they not shut their nuclear powerplants down.

At this stage, I would not recommend that you purchase the Xiaomi SU7.

The greatest strength of Xiaomi products lies in the Xiaomi ecosystem; once removed from this ecosystem, the user experience is significantly diminished.

You should wait until the Xiaomi ecosystem is fully established in your region before you can take full advantage of what the product has to offer.

Currently, none of China’s mid-to-high-end smart electric vehicles (EVs) are being marketed outside of China. The Chinese EVs seen abroad generally lack advanced driver-assistance systems—often featuring only basic infotainment systems—and in the Chinese market, these models would be classified as budget-friendly, entry-level vehicles. ------ The core reason for this lies in the supporting ecosystem.
