Getting Close To The End Of My Natural Life Span:---

Hi & ASA people,

I am close to the end or maybe possibly right at the end of my natural life span.

I hope that some of the knowledge that I shared with you people, may have assisted you with understanding the 'critical issues' a little better.
I remember you fondly from old forum Mastan Khan sir. Livina, Sparkling way, Syed etc... Great people I learned a lot from.

I pray for your health and long fruitful life. Ameen.

Despite the profound differences, i hope you recover and wish health for you and your family.

Just one thing, we will all die one day, sooner or later. Death is an intelligent and smart reality of our lives. Its just the start of a long term travel. Not the end but start like a newborn child that just left that small place inside belly of its mother where for almost 9 months imagined to be the whole world and beyond that world, there is nothing in the outside.

Difference is, that long travel that starts with our death, takes shape with what we have knowingly done in this world.

With that view, you could understand that "no comfort is worth the world if it costs the cry of the oppressed and places you beside the oppressor".

Hi,

Retirement is like hitting a brick wall going at 90 mph. That is what I am going thru right now.

So---this info is more so for people in their 50's.

I had an AFIB attack about months ago at around 1:00 am ---got up and don't feel good---little burning sensation in the food canal.

First---I don't feel my pulse---it s non existant---when I find it---it has no rhythm---totally irregular beat which later at the hospital i found it to be around 170-180 a minute. Went to the emergency---it became normal after 6 hours---came back home.

Went to see a cardio---had 2 weeks of electronic monitor on the chest---did ultra sound for the heart and carotid artery---.

Heart is beating strong---carotid arteries clean---.

Did a stress test ---almost normal except for a couple of minor anamolies.

Dr. suggest and angiogram for the final test. The angiogram happened in december.

Found out---that I had a heart attack maybe--- 1, 2, 3 or maybe 5 years ago----. I did not know about---. 1 of blood vessel in the heart was 100 % blocked that the Dr. did not want to disturb it---because other blood vessels had developed and compensated for the shortage---so the Dr, did not use any stents or repair.

Now the mind games started to happen---.

Reminded me of when i was in the microbiology dept at Karachi univ---one of our senior healthy girl while testing her blood sample found out that she had "sickle cell". It is rumored that she passed away around 6 months later.

So---my mind had started playing some devious games.

It is funny that one day you say that I am not afraid to die and the next day you say that life is very importatnt---.

So---I am trying to conquer the mind game at this time.

Other that that---I am still my old self.
It isn't over till it is over... until then we're all in it together. One foot in front of the other...
Think healthy and stau strong!

Don't worry, you will have a long life. Don't think about much. Be what you always have been and want to be.

No one knows what's his time. In Shaa Allah you will live a long and healthy life in the remembrance of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

All the best. Hope you see your family again.

Bro you scared me - i thought you were terminal or something.

Life and death is in Allah's hands, we all live in hope that we see tomorrow. That's never changed. Pre-diagnosis, post diagnosis - you are the same person. Pre-blockage, post-blockage - you have the same mortality. Don't let it get you down.

I would perhaps recommend getting a second opinion about the stent, my mother has had 4, my father has had multiple, plus he has a pacemaker. In fact a while ago his pacemaker had to be replaced after the site of the previous one got infected - 7 years after it was fitted?! He spent 3 months in hospital. Alhamdulillah, it took him 18 months to recover but he's living a normal life again. My parents are in their late 70's and 80's.

InshaAllah you will be fine.

What I would recommend, as someone who is not too far behind you in age (40's), is a wholescale lifestyle change. Quit the smoking (if you smoke), reduce sugar intake, increase exercise, especially weight lifting, you don't have to be a body builder, but doing weights helps reduce muscle wastage, it keeps your body young. Do cardio, don't forget stretches - join a gym, or invest in a PT short term to help you get upto speed.

Diet is also another big one. I often joke I'd rather be dead than have to live off salad for the rest of my life. Introduce healthier foods in your life - cut down your favourite foods to 1 meal every other day. That way you don't miss them too long, but you're not eating them all the time.

Dear Mastan Sahab,
I can’t pretend to know what you’re feeling, but I do know this: you are stronger than this moment. What you’re facing doesn’t define you—your courage does. Take it one breath, one day at a time. You’re a fighter, and you don’t have to fight alone. We are always here for you.

May Allah SWT give you a full a speedy recovery.

Best Regards

Its funny how we live our life surrounded by responsibilities, duties but ignore the small blessings that Allah has given us, 25% of our lives taken by careless childhood, 25% for education, 30-50% goes to work, remaining is for family and whatever is left to reconcile, reflect and prepare for that reality none of us can escape.
Hopefully you feel better, eat healthy, reconcile with your family and friends, if you have debt make sure to pay it off, and you can add me in your will if you have any (Ok that part is a joke) but good to see you back here @MastanKhan.

Hi. I hope everything is alright. Don't take stress. It's only God who will determine our death as this world is nothing but a temporary place. You are one of the few members here who really understands Pakistan well. We don't know each other well but I am always here if you need me.
Take care of your health.

Syed, Donatello, Abo Zulfiqar are some of the members I missed from old PDF, Armstrong tooo don't know what happened to him. The good old days of PDF, time flies it feel almost like yesterday that we had countless fun discussions with Indians over JFvsTejas, possible deal of 8 submarine from China etc, and now here we are!!!
