Honestly as I get older I just feel that I'm wasting my life. Working 40-60 hours a week, commuting, kids being at school all day, then doing homework - we are all always mentally tired. Why are we in this rat race? Would we all be that much worse off if we lived off the land, had enough to eat, shelter and clothes on our backs? Its funny how we live our life surrounded by responsibilities, duties but ignore the small blessings that Allah has given us, 25% of our lives taken by careless childhood, 25% for education, 30-50% goes to work, remaining is for family and whatever is left to reconcile, reflect and prepare for that reality none of us can escape.
Hopefully you feel better, eat healthy, reconcile with your family and friends, if you have debt make sure to pay it off, and you can add me in your will if you have any (Ok that part is a joke) but good to see you back here @MastanKhan.
There was a happy balance between the two - somewhere it was lost. I absolutely hate forcing my children awake in the morning to go to school - i just wish i had the skillset to home school. It feels so unfair to get them up when they don't want to. Ironically on the weekend they're up even earlier. Go figure!
I live 5 mins from my parents house - yesterday i visited them after 5 days. How are we existing like this? On Saturday night i met a friend for tea after a month, we live 10 minutes apart. Our whole sense of community is slowly falling apart at the seams because we're all so tired from our 9-5 lifestyles.
