Global Naval Power Rankings 2026 - US Navy Retains Top Ranking

Why does this aircraft carrier under construction look so similar to the Varyag, which was temporarily detained by Turkey back then? Do you also have the blueprints?

MUGEM Aircraft Carrier look similar to British QE class Aircraft Carrier in terms of its massive physical footprint and modular building philosophy

284 m QE class Aircraft Carrier .. The UK

MUGEM Aircrfat Carrier, initially planned to be 285 m long, was later decided to be built with a length of 300 m.

I don't think the blueprint of the Varyag did exist when Ukraine sold the ship hull to China.

Otherwise, China wouldn't take 13 years to commission that ship.

Since the China from the 2000s was also an industrial powerhouse, just not powerful enough to challenge the US.

Since Ukraine was also afraid of the western sanction, so it sold as a floating casino to China.

Then China spent 13 years of study and built up its own supply chain to provide all components for the aircraft carrier.
In fact, as mentioned in the documentary, the blueprints were provided, totaling dozens of tons. With the assistance of Ukrainian engineers, we spent over a decade of technical effort to fully understand the aircraft carrier blueprints.
This is also the reason for the construction in Shandong. We redesigned and conducted various experiments. It laid the foundation for aircraft carrier construction, which in turn led to the birth of the Fujian aircraft carrier......

Some rumors also suggest the blueprint of the Ulyanovsk supercarrier was also provided to China.

However, these are just circulating online rumors, and there is no way we can validate it nowadays.

Because since the Shandong carrier, China's aircraft carrier tech tree has becoming completely diverged from the Soviet one.

The Shandong was indeed built according to the blueprints, with improvements made to the electrical circuits and a redesign of the layout and engine placement. However, in terms of the keel framework, it still cannot escape the influence of the Varyag, as it is merely a technical validation platform. This is also why we refer to these two aircraft carriers as training ships. Compared to steam catapults or electromagnetic catapults, they are indeed lagging behind.

But the term "outdated technology" is something only we can say; for other countries without aircraft carriers, it remains very advanced.

Shandong's major improvement compared to Varyag is the concept from the Soviet aircraft cruiser into a true aircraft carrier by completely utilizing its the wasted interior space that hosted for the anti-ship missile launching system.

To build an indigenous ski-jump aircraft carrier was a huge hurdle for the China from the 2010s, and surely being an enormous task for many non-P5 nations.

During my university years, I still remember the classic quote from a Soviet general that circulated online: "I need the Soviet Union, the Party Central Committee, the State Planning Committee, the Military-Industrial Commission, and nine ministries of defense industry, 600 related specialties, and 8,000 supporting factories. In short, I need a great country to accomplish this, but that great country no longer exists."

This passage still sounds very impactful when heard now or in the future.

This statement remains profoundly impactful even today.Correct

After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the entire military supply chain has become completely fragmented, and many components are now located within the former Soviet states.

Otherwise, Russia wouldn't suffer the dilemma of losing their only remaining aircraft carrier.

075 If electromagnetic catapults are added, it can still be used as part of a light aircraft carrier fleet.IMG_917.webpIMG_915.webp

The U.S. Department of Defense sent out two distinct market inquiries

Guided-Missile Destroyers: Sent to HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hanwha Ocean asking for pricing, design, and production capabilities for 8 proposed Destroyers.

Fleet Replenishment Tankers: Sent to Samsung Heavy Industries alongside the other two yards to gauge capacity for medium-sized fleet oilers

The US is actively looking at S.Korea , Türkiye and Japan to help solve its massive naval shipbuilding crisis to prevent China from permanently locking in naval supremacy in 2040s

US is not thrustworthy at all.

Who can guarantee they wont sabotage Turkish shipyards and naval sectors with their Mossad-pedos?

The Balance of Power in 2045

In 2045, defeating China in its own territory (Western Pacific) will become nearly impossible for the US.

However, China will also be unable to break the US's global pressure on global ocean trade routes, nuclear submarine dominance, and allied networks (AUKUS, partnerships with Japan, South Korea , etc ).
This is exactly what some hyper nationalists here seem to think, That the US is sleeping and running on neutral.

Like only other nations are advancing and the US isn't.

Besides that this thread is supposed to be about the current (2026) global naval power.

Give it some time. A few years.

China is massively building their navy while the US Navy cant even provide food on board for their marines because every taxpenny is going to Israel.
This i threadabout the current rankings
The CVN-78 is still plagued by the technical issues since its birth, while the CVN-79 keeps getting delayed.

Many US nuclear submarines are getting over 30 years old, and its modern construction speed is very slow compared to China, and they cannot maintain the lead in quantity very long.

BTW, China currently got around 120 SLBM with the JL-2 and JL-3 as the 72 figure is undercounted; in reality, China got around 10 SSBN boats of the Type 094 variants, not including the Type 096.

Since the US has no more power in its land based ICBM as the Minuteman III is mostly becoming decoration, and it can only rely its current numerical advantage in the SLBM.
One, just one Ohio class SSBN is practically a civilization ender.

Any country, and I mean any country that dares think it launch a nuclear first strike against the United States will be obliterated right back.

If all Americans thought like Turks, that would be great — but unfortunately, they don’t.
How lovely turks are!
This mindset may be flawed, yet deep down, he is itching to witness a war between Israel and Turkey, convinced that Turkey will inevitably reveal its true colors once conflict erupts.
