It's the sad reality of this country. Its leaders are not sincere.

IK's moral ethical stances were performative. The penny dropped for me when they failed to deliver on this in the first 100 days and never really followed up on it again.



He aggressively started targeting his opponents instead.

His transformation from well articulated high society nobility to talibanized boomer was an incredible disappointment after decades of hope.

Atleast its given a wake up call to PMLN and they have started doing the work. They should have full authority over every province so these petty politics don't get in the way of development.

Democracy has been a net negative for Pakistan. I like this hybrid military and political regime. They should codify it into the constitution.

What fauji apologia?
No one is apologizing for the fauj.
You can critique IK for his failures and the fauj - they can be MUTUALLY exclusive.
I fail to see why this concept is so alien to every side's supporter.


This isnt a case of "I critique my fathers side therefore I must love my mother's side of the family"...
Unfortunately Pakistanis are mentally incapable - retarded perhaps by genetics - to handle that idea that one can find faults on both sides and potentially find them all reprehensible.

As for him not delivering - Covid was done in 21... even the projects he started prior - with good people he championed - he screwed over for the electables and others.

His own picked - qualified people - got sick of his interference and egoism.

That comment - does not mean its apologetic for the umpteenth greater wrongs the establishment as done.

Any balanced individual - at least here in the west - will read it and see it as fair.

I had similar discussions when criticiszing Faujis for their ills with current PTI/former "Faujis are z best" types for the past 20 years... and the response pattern is exactly this

Firstly, the COVID emergency didn't end until early 2022.
Really? Who was sick if him? He had dozens of initiatives; some were dumb as ****, some were badly implemented and a few were unqualified successes.

His Afghanistan policy was dumb as rocks, and he is way too enamored of the Taliban, which unfortunately isn't an uncommon view amongst the urban elite.

It will fail again, PTI fails to gather a large number of crowd to pressurise the government for a deal. Its not really PTI fault, the state will use full force to destroy PTI. Pakistan is again turning to 1980s Pakistan.

It may indeed fail but that doesn't mean it isn't worth doing. The dictatorial system in Pakistan only responds to pressure and violence and PTI doesn't practice violence, unlike terrorists and the fauji mafia.
