Looks like the greek are looking to offload their mirage 2000, to India for low cost.

India has fifty operational mirage2000 and these are not being phased out until 203020357 at least

Greece's prime minster is visiting Modi in India next week

Good interim addition we believe it's up to 20 fighters X taking the mirage fleet to 70 plus
Rememer the last mig21 go next year

These airframe will mainly be used as Spares for the existing fleet.
Though 3-4 aircraft can be put to active use as attrition replacement.

In 2021, India bought 24 Mirage 2000 from France, out of which 4 aircrafts were upgraded to Dash5 standards and put into service as replacement for aircrafts lost in accident( IAF had 47 active Mirage 2000 in 2021, that number rose to 51 in 2023 thanks to French Mirage purchase)

while remaining 20 were canibalised for spares.

IAF has said that it's short of Twin seater Mirage 2000 for Pilot training( 7 Trainers left in fleet)
So it's quite possible that any Twin seater Mirage 2000 we get from Greece will undergo the overhaul and Upgrade process at HAL and will be put into active duty

“The Greek Air Force is looking into the possibility of the fighters’ sale to India, a suggestion which both the Defence Ministry and the prime minister’s office are aware of,” Kathimerini reported on Wednesday.

The outlet added that Greece and India are nearly ready to finalise a deal on the jets, which were de-commissioned in 2022 and are not ruling out the possibility that the sale could be brought up by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in his visit to New Delhi later this month

Good practical approach.

However, if Pakistan buys any used aircraft for spares or attritions, I see indian media & indian commentators using insults and abusive statements like "Cash strapped Pakistan turns to second hand jets" and stuff like that. Ironically, its India that buys second hand jets more frequently than Pakistan.

Your entire mirage 3 and mirage 5 fleet was purchased second hand
Half of your F16s are also second hand jets
These aircraft are being purchased for spares and attrition reserves

We are not going to raise a fresh squadron from these Mirages2000

If we wanted to do that , then we would have done that in 2021 , when we received 24 mirage 2000s from France out of which 13 were in complete condition and 8 were in fly away combat condition.
However only 4 mirage 2000 were sent to active duty as replacement for aircraft lost over the years.
Rest are being used as spares to maintain 50+ mirages 2000 fleet

There is nothing Ironic about it. Your defence spending % is higher vis your GDP. This is also not an insult or abuse; you are cash-strapped and in the process of securing an IMF bailout.
India is buying these jets for spares not for usage as Mirage 2000 is not in serial production anymore.

Great news for Pakistan, these Mirages are trumped by all the BVR enabled fleet of PAF.

Except few Jordanian F-16s, all were brand new F-16s. For mirages, saying "entire fleet" is incorrect. Originally large number of fleet was purchased, however in the 90's and early 2000s large quantity of aircrafts were purchased. Most were for spares / attritions.
The point I was making was different. India also does the same but do not shy away from making spicy statements when Pakistan do the same.

No, you missed the point. The indian media statements give a false view that Pakistan is buying second hand jets because it cannot buy new jets. Which is totally false. Pakistan only buy used jets the same way India buys. That's for spares and attrition loss.

So Indian Mirages 2000 I/TI uses RDY-3 radar and not widely reported RDY-2 radar

Sorry, why am I tagged in this? Also, pretty typical Indian reporting. Greece "could" offer Mirage 2000s has turned into "Greece offers"....

So, you bought the F16 from Jordan to dismantle it and use it as spares for your running F16s? No, you bought them in flyaway condition to increase your squadron numbers. This is not what we are doing, we bought them for using its parts for spares for the existing ones. We are not going to refit these jets with radars any upgraded avionics. Also, yeah it is false, you can buy new jets and increase defence spending but at what expense is what Indian media is talking about. Our situations are different.

The deal is for these planes to be used as spares only . Because the production of these stopped in 2007...
As we are only retiring our 51 mirages in 2030 /2034 the spares will save us having to ground any planes

All the mirage fleet to be replaced by Tejas mark 2

Most of aircraft are better served as a source of spares for the existing fleet. Of course you can always use a few serviceable aircraft to augment your fleet
