That's probably because you are not in any imminent threat of an invasion so building up military for a confrontation that may never happen seem to be pointless. Any equipment say you purchase a Rafale or Typhoons, or large purchase will have a more service cost given the region you live is humid and damp or salty towards the coast. Overall you should however increase your defence spending from sub 1% to at least 2% to match up to regional and global standards. This very line of thinking has been institutionalized in Bangladeshi academia and media, that military build up is bad.

Threat from who and for what? The only scenario I see you get threats is unless you plan to invade Burma and settle Rohingyas in Arakkan region. Not too long ago we had to absorb a million refugee and looking likely to permanently absorb them into our population, just because we didn't have the military capability to stave off the Burmese, let alone India.
Are you still sure we don't have any imminent threat?

I disagree. The "wave after wave" diarrhoea that spouts forth from the Indian informational orifice is certainly a standardised practice in this particular qom, but this is the behaviour their media personalities will indulge in purely to create click bait and justify their paltry salaries. Remember, they serve a market of 1.8 billion insecure Bollywood dreamers who need this sort of garbage to stay alive. Nevertheless, Bd would be wise to stay alert for any misadventures, as even the Indian military and deep state security apparatus lets the Bollywood mentality get to their head on an all too regular basis. That area is quite militarised and the demographic changes may require some additional military logistics but this wave after wave of intentionally targeting the BD army points at something more mature and grand in nature.
The question really is how far is India willing to let BD go out of her sphere of influence.
Shall we expect communal riots in BD soon?
Because they are part of EU program and well they can spend part of their GDP for defence. They can't fly on Swiss knife can they?LOL.
Ridiculous.
Why did Switzerland need to purchase F-35s?
Not sure why Indians always have the need to minimize the need for Bangladesh to acquire weapons.

We don't really care if you purchase some toys if that makes you sleep at night better that's not even my argument.

I don't know if you plan to do it, bold of you if you did it.
The other scenario is India, I don't think India is planning to give another nearly 150 million Muslims, Indian citizenship. Which finally comes to BD planning to do something to take over North East which you and I know is a joke.
Hence the skepticism.
Why you care what we do? It’s none of your business lol.Threat from who and for what? The only scenario I see you get threats is unless you plan to invade Burma and settle Rohingyas in Arakkan region.

Like seriously what’s their problem.I am sure you mean well, but we are in a world where genocide and war crimes happens and no one bats an eye.
Why should we wait until someone crazy in either India or Myanmar come to power and annex a region of Bangladesh? Why should we wait to have a similar fate as Ukraine or Lebanon?
No one is claiming for a complete annexation and absorption of Bangladesh into India. We are talking about possible territory annexation.
And this does not come from nowhere. Talks of annexing Rangpur region of Bangladesh to increase the depth of Chicken neck, is being said out loud by a small portion of your media and former military officers. Here is an example -

Widen the Siliguri Corridor, annex Rangpur Division of Bangladesh (Augmented)

Today they may be fringe voices, but so was the likes of Ben Gvir and Smotrich in Israel talking about Greater Israel 20 years ago. Look at them now implementing their dream.
Likewise, a segment of Burmese has the intention to annex Chittagong Hill tracts as they claim it to be part of Rakhaine historically.
Just because you don't see any threat, doesn't mean there is none.
Why should Bangladesh wait for threat to be imminent before acting to arm itself? Bolstering defence needs time, especially when one has small budget like Bangladesh. We need to start early and strategically so that we don't become Ukraine or Lebanon losing parts of their territory to their neighbor.
We don’t want to be your partner, now go awayMaybe they are trying to avoid a useless confrontation without any good reason ?
Or maybe india serves better as a regional partner than a rival
