Actually once knew the daughter of the Bangladesh ambassador to the United States. This is probably around 2002, after 9-11. We both worked at the City of Detroit's Department of Human Rights, which we will tell anyone, it's the Department of Human Wrongs.
She was the token Muslim, I was the token straight white male. The rest of the department was grifting....
Anyways, on her first day on the job, she decided to do her prayers in the file cabinet room.
I spent the morning fucking off, posting on Stormfront.
Had to retrieve a file, see all the grifting .... standing just outside the file room. Looked, and saw a female in Muslim garb, praying.
I walked in, stepping over her, retrieved my file, stepped over her again, and left without saying a word.
Later that afternoon, introduced myself and suggested she go up to the 13th floor of the City County Building and do her prayers where the City of Detroit Council meet once a week.
She fast became my lunch mate over at the Renaissance Center's restaurants.
One time her husband showed up. I was very honored her husband wanted to meet me.
Made a small donation to their charity.
They insisted I join their mosque in Dearborn.
