H-1B visas must end’: Wife of US citizen shares plight of landing IT jobs

currently being discussed in your media!

no, by your logic, they are trolling!
Your mental level and discourse has always been of poor level.
Any person can find a social media post or a news item in a country of 1.4 billion and make it the basis of his claim has to have serious comprehension issues.
Please grow up to be treated like one.

I did not see the point of creating a new thread so I'll post this here. US is going towards protectionism and China is "supposedly" opening up. Now given China's huge population and already a large number of STEM graduates + unemployment issues i dunno how they'll do it though.

The Chinese K Visa is a gimmick. I agree with you.

our argumentation has been found weak several times, and I’ve noticed the underlying themes below:

1. You shove your opinion down someone else’s throat, punching line after line of baseless, imaginative arguments.

2. If a person doesn’t agree with you or points out shortcomings in your posts, you attack them personally (a hallmark of bully and person needing immediate mental care, perhaps asylum!)

3. You always base your opinions only on what’s written (not substantive), as if you want to impose a preconceived notion of what someone is allowed to think or say—like a criminal trying to blind people to multiple vantage points.

4. No amount of logical argumentation ever comes out of your posts—just silly truth-wrangling.

You are borderline narcissistic, and in public discourse I often feel that blackmailing and controlling others is your underlying hidden trait.

Anyone who stands against your opinion is, in your view, insane and unworthy of public discourse. Perhaps you never really understood what public discourse even was.
You are the kind of person who is a criminal on the inside but exploits others mentally through taunts and personal attacks. You come across as having a deeply criminal mind. Was your upbringing like that—traumatized or abused—or is there something wrong in your nature?

Depends on the job market. And $50,000 is not bad at all for the unemployed. And also not bad in low cost regions. Some browsing of Glass Door may help you how desperate people are.

It will be interesting to see how many these start appearing in job postings. This is for a Junior Data Engineer role offering up to $35/hour. Pathetic salary but far better than unemployed.

"PLEASE NOTE: This is a 6 month renewable contract to hire and needs to meet Client full-time conversion policies. Those dependent on a work permit sponsor now or anytime in the future (ie H1B, OPT, CPT, etc) do not meet Client requirements for this opening."

you live in LCOL area. A lot of these jobs are in MCOL and HCOL area where 50k does not go too far

Good effort.
Had you used all this English and analysis on the subject, I would have given you a thumbs up. Even if against my opinion.

Dont pick up random videos from social media and make them the basis of an entire nations thought process.
You have all the skills, just that you seem a little lazy.

Keep up the good work.

I won't be asking you what to post.
Whatever I do will smack you in the face, and who are you to tell anyone, do you even get full meals at home?

English obviously doesn't mean there is depth (as often is the case in your arguments and silly and stupid posts!) in logical argumentation; for logical argumentation, even three words are enough.

thief (which you are apparently!) bosses others, tells them what to do!

Then simply get graduate type level...

I am not at all convinced that say 15 h1b types vs 8 American citizens would have any difference in productivity. I would think that the due to cultural and educational differences, the team of American 8 would have a higher ceiling of capability

The only difference is the American would want to move on after two years
I agree with the comment on the higher ceiling of the American team. The only issue is that some software work has a low ceiling.

Does grunt work come to an end in two years?

@nahtanbob

Nathan Anna,

That is the whole point. @r3alist bro is defending the entitled white American kids right to earn USD 150 k for doing what you call grunt work.

Regards
The White American kids are not entitled. It is their country. They have a right to those jobs. A lot of these kids happen to be Hispanic and Asian American too.

Of course they have. As long as they are value for money for the employers who create these jobs. OTOH, the GoUS is well within its rights to bar all immigrants and reserve the jobs for native born Americans only.

I can imagine that the American worker would look for new pastures after a few years comma improved salary etc

Compared to the h1b guy not so flexible

I won't be asking you what to post.
Even I am not asking you to do that.

I am only asking you to be a little logical, lest you are treated like a child.
do you even get full meals at home?
How did you come to know that I was hungry since morning?
You seem to have excellent prognosis capability based on just posts on a forum. Great work.

Thief? What did I do to earn this medal?

Enough of derailing the tread.

Can we focus on the subject now? And no trolling. Please be a little humane and show that little humanity bone towards those unnecessarily impacted by this Trump dictat.

So you can't really blame US corporates for preferring H1Bs over native American workers.

Of course.
But even if I were young, I wouldn't want to emulate a 'Sex and the City' lifestyle which a lot of youngens want: Walk out of their tiny apartments into all kind of bars, museums, enjoy a 'hookup' scene and what not. Plus the immigrants seem to have a love of their own ethnic food, their customs, and they thus end up living in larger, more expensive cities, congregating around each other to find the 'comfort' through each other.

But there are other options available, at least for temporary basis.

Someone very close to me lives on $18,000/year in a modest retirement in a house over 1 acre and still manages to have a pontoon, two old vehicles, and enough to eat cheap, but healthy food. America offers a range if people use the lower spectrum of the offers to build upon for a later, 'better' life.

No no, I still can, otherwise the thread will soon die off.

@Meengla sb,

If you have a roof over your head and a decent medical cover, you don't really need a lot of money to lead a fulfilled life. We are lucky to be born desis and in a period of time where we were programmed to be happy with limited material objects.
