H-1B visas must end’: Wife of US citizen shares plight of landing IT jobs

God, let them end H1B. Atleast we will be spared this PDF angst! Since India has little to no say in H1Bs, why are you guys debating with Indian people! Just shut down H1Bs. Ask daddy Trump to do it! Whether H1B is a scam or not is irrelevant, America can shut it down. End of mindless drivel.

Daddy Trump won't last forever, nor would MAGA. All this Trump tariff nonsense would likely end in court or midterms.
This is surely a note to self you are sharing with us.

Because the actual debate is happening outside of this forum, if you could believe that.

Not every job will go abroad. The idea is to keep some in USA
It is all about cost effectiveness. Where the job is is less important, except for political reasons.

How much revenue does his firm generate?

Only then will we know if it's a rounding error, right?

I believe the company will take 100,000 from the applicants. It could then very well prove to be a karma to Indian scammers..

That's a new business idea btw.. I will give this idea to a friend of mine who wanted to hire from Pakistan but couldn't due to H1B visa fees. Pakistanis won't pay, but Indians will definitely be interested in investing USD 100,000 in their future.

Amazon’s latest announcement has set the tech and economic world abuzz. The e-commerce giant plans to invest over $35 billion in India’s cloud and AI space by 2030, building on nearly $40 billion it has already poured into the country since 2010. The investment is expected to create 1 million jobs and boost exports to $80 billion

But while Amazon calls it a move to ‘support job creation and small businesses,’ critics in the US and especially the MAGA circle see a different story, one that harms American workers, promotes digital dominance, leverages cheap labour, and shifts global tech strategy.”

Amazon is not alone. Microsoft recently announced a $17.5 billion investment in India, and Google has also pledged $15 billion. Together, these decisions show India’s growing role as a hub for AI, cloud computing, and tech infrastructure. But the news hasn’t gone down well in some circles in the United States. Social media is filled with reactions, with many slamming it as “digital colonisation.” The move has also sparked massive boycott calls.

Several Trump supporters see this as an attempt to undermine Trump’s push to keep the US at the forefront of tech, something he plans to achieve by putting ‘Americans First,’ limiting H-1B and student visas, and tightening immigration rules. But in contrast, many American companies have already begun expanding in India, which has frustrated the MAGA circle.

One angry commentator wrote, “Your Prime subscription? Funding the offshoring of American tech dominance. Your Azure cloud usage? Building AI capacity in Bangalore, not Boston… Stop funding your replacement. Unsubscribe. Cancel. Delete.”

Another said, “What Amazon, Microsoft & Google are doing in India isn’t investment. It’s digital colonisation wrapped in corporate PR… Securing data pipelines, AI training material at zero cost, and influence over India’s economy.”

Some pointed to job displacement in the US, arguing that companies are laying off high-paid American workers while hiring cheaper labour in India. One user said, “Better to have H1Bs in America paying taxes… Amazon is hiring Indians in India for $100,000 while laying off Americans at $280,000.” Another chimed in, “Amazon pouring another $35 billion into India just proves the country has become the West’s favourite cheap labour camp. Companies flee high wages and regulations at home, flood India with cash, crush local small businesses, pocket massive profits, then ship the money back overseas. Indians get low-pay jobs and pollution, while foreign billionaires get richer. This isn’t an investment; it’s modern colonialism dressed as progress, and Indians cheering for it are celebrating their own exploitation.

Amazon pledges growth and AI for India

At the Smbhav Summit in New Delhi, Amazon highlighted its vision for India’s AI ecosystem. The company plans to:

  • Create 1 million direct and indirect jobs by 2030
  • Quadruple exports to $80 billion
  • Support AI-driven digitisation for 15 million small businesses
Amit Agarwal, Amazon’s SVP for emerging markets, said, “We’re excited to continue being a catalyst for India’s growth, as we democratize access to AI for millions of Indians.”

Refer to the post above. As I had pointed out:

#One of the responses of the corporates to restrictions on immigrations would be offshoring.
#It would be better for America to have H1Bs paying taxes and spending in American economy is better for them than for them to be staying back in IND (and elsewhere) and spending their dollars there.

Regards

MAGA should boycott...America!

These people loved Reagan who caused all the manufacturing jobs to move away from America. That was then. Death to socialists.

This is now. Death to socialism unless it involves us. What is India anyways? American corporations are the real patriots here. Ask MAGA if they hate capitalism? Hell, look at all the crying farmers who voted for tariffs and demanded all "aids" be shut down. Now here they are, proudly receiving 12 billion USD aid, all socialist and what not.

Capitalism and America are one and the same. H1Bs is capitalism. What kind of capitalist willfully spends more money?

H1Bs are like temporary indentured servants. So, H1B isn't capitalism. It is temporary feudalism.

It would actually be better for Americans and American graduates to be employed and spending their dollars, as well as purchasing homes and starting families

It is a strange servitude if you are fighting for it and doing everything you can to achieve it.
