H-1B visas must end’: Wife of US citizen shares plight of landing IT jobs

Why have you crawled out from amidst the rotting woodwork just to yap about this particularly pyrrhic pseudo-victory? Surely it has occurred to you, being one of the relatively more intelligent treetop dwellers from the eastern hinterlands, that India can only hide behind Pakistan in the MAGA war against non-whites for so long?

A fair analogy might be, if Tommy's boys were to expel Pakistanis from UK tomorrow, do you genuinely believe they won't come for Hindustanis next?
He wants Indians out of India

These Indians were worshipping Trump not so long ago. Then, China and Russia became India's best father. LOL Nowadays Modi doesn't want to return Trump's call. 🤣🤣

The Indians got a destruction of their life time after Trump did a U-turn on H1-B. I absolutely enjoy Indian crocodile tears in this thread.
People will have selective memory, but many Indians were generally giddy about trump, with their red hats on.

Just as they were busy burying Gandhi's legacy, and anti-racism was just woke politics, the global South didn't exist........

But then again if you are a relativist you can change your position as much as you want

A good thoroughly researched article

Demand for high-achiever visas fuels a pay-to-play industry for scientific research and accolades

Updated on: January 14, 2026 / 7:32 PM EST / CBS News

As the backlog has grown for many employment-based U.S. visas, applications have skyrocketed for the so-called "Einstein visa" reserved for people who can show extraordinary ability in their fields.

But as interest has spiked in the high-achiever visa, called the EB-1A, so has a market for credential-boosting services that in some cases may constitute fraud, a CBS News investigation found.

Some visa hopefuls, especially in science and technology fields, have turned to a marketplace of services to pad their resumes with false or low-quality records of achievement. Research brokers or consultants ghostwrite research papers, boost article citations, or confer vanity awards to customers willing to pay up to hundreds or thousands of dollars.

@Gripen9

And yet USA has included PAK and BD in its list of immigrant visa restriction, but not IND. What gives?

Typical obfuscation and conflating of issues as expected. Do you have any material objection to the article I shared detailing rampant fraud happening in the employment visa pipelines?

Your comparison conflates completely different policy lanes. Pakistan , Bangladesh and other countries on the immigrant visa ban, restrictions are tied to security optics. They have nothing to do with H-1B or employment-based fraud. H-1B and EB-1 abuse is handled through USCIS and DOJ enforcement, not country bans.
India isn’t “untouched” because it’s clean; it’s insulated by leverage. US corporations run massive India-based back offices, Big Tech depends heavily on Indian labor pipelines, and bilateral trade and geopolitics matter. That makes Washington reluctant to impose blunt country-level penalties even when systemic fraud i-e fake EB-1A profiles, paper mills, shell consultancies is well documented.
Country bans are political, not forensic. Notice how Trump-era restrictions overwhelmingly targeted Muslim-majority countries, even though they have little to do with H-1B fraud, which is dominated by Indian-origin networks.

Public opinion rarely drives policy anyway. US public support for Israel’s actions in Gaza is at historic lows, yet US policy remains strongly pro-Israel. Same logic here: policy follows strategic interests and influence, not where the most abuse occurs.

So no, this proves nothing about “who’s clean.” It only shows how selective enforcement really works.

This ban is all about the usage of benefits by different countries. Pakistan stands at 40.2%, Israel/Palestine at 25.9%, and Saudi Arabia at 25.7%.

If we do a little ChatGPT research, it also shows that about 16% of Hindustani Americans benefit from these welfare programs as well. However, Hindustani posters on the forum try to portray that all Hindustanis are the ones running the U.S. economy.

Secondly, a large share of Hindustani immigrants come on employment-based visas (H-1B, L-1, etc.). These visa holders are not eligible for most federal welfare programs like: SNAP (food stamps), Medicaid programs and etc.

Plus, using public assistance will going to harm future green card or citizenship applications under U.S. immigration rules and that's the BIGGEST FACTOR, hindustani's are avoiding these programs for now.

Trump recent ban on Pakistani and Bangladeshi (70+ countries) is based on data that immigrants from those countries are more likely to request public assistance

the data is inaccurate... even Michael Klugerman stated this seems wrong as Pakistani Americans have on average performed above but not to the level Chinese/Tiawanese

China likes Indians working for America silicon valley. Its how China caught up so fast and have their own shit for everything e.g. deepseek, baidu, wechat, huawei, xiaomi, tencent, netease etc

Many East Asians and Indians who come to the U.S. enter either through highly skilled visa categories or education visas after being selected into top programs at research universities; they take the top slots in STEM categories. Their support network tends to be strong and often helps with job placements, etc. These are the least likely to become a financial burden on the U.S. taxpayers.

The majority of Pakistanis come through chain migration, family reunification, and spousal visas. This isn't to say H-1Bs and others aren't used, but they're used mostly in select healthcare categories. Now, while these are good-paying jobs, the East Asian's build products and services and sell their start-ups, or work in high-tech fields with higher pay. But rarely have I seen Pakistanis, innovators, and researchers finding the next best product or solution to a problem, because there are none.

From my personal experience, 90% of the Pakistani families I've known or seen bring immediate relatives, such as mom and dad, more often than not, place them on Medicaid and other benefits. They bring other relatives who are lowly educated, living off gas-station jobs, and collecting from social safety net programs, working on cash so their income isn't accurately reported, or they'll lose the benefits. The list is endless.

So while Michael isn't wrong, Pakistani's performed above average, but when you really look at the data, it isn't as great as the medical profession often skews the income figures.

@r3alist

They also picked you out for 500 percent tariffs, and trump just described modi as a man who calls him sir..

Well the 500% tariff isn't a done deal yet. The immigration visa thingy is much advanced. In any case, IND has cut down Russian oil purchase and may not be subjected to 500% duty.

As far as DJT saying Modi called him sir- well I suppose it is a practise among statesmen to refer to each other gracefully. In any case, Trumps Commerce Secy says Modi never called him! So it is two felons' word against each other!

Now back to the matter on hand.

You guys are not stealing the white man's job.
You guys (allegedly) won the Sindoor War.
You guys awarded Trump the Nobel Prize.

So why is immigration behaving so badly with you?
